Just on your point, in Geelong’s B&F they remove each players 2 lowest scoring rounds to lessen the impact of missing games through injury.
That’s not a bad start to even out the distortion that can occur if a player is injured early in a match.
I believe every player is rated 5 to 1.
The change seems to have occurred between 2015 and 2017. In 2014, it was four coaches, 10 votes with a max of 40. By 2017, it was the current system.
