Not sure there is any doctoring going on in Alice Springs. Let’s face it, are you ever going to get a juiced up pitch in the middle of the desert?
I believe batting roads there are the norm. But as it will be drying out a rate of knots, there should be cracks etc for the spinners, so winning the toss & batting first is a huge advantage
Normally the pitch is fairly flat and dry up there but only a couple of weeks ago at the Shield game the ball was doing all sorts and both teams were knocked over quite cheaply so I was hoping there may of been a bit in it this week. One of the curators sent up there to help out did say they were asked to “take the juice” out of it and make it conducive for batting
