David Barham - Our new Board Overlord

I actually love forced DEI seminars and activities because it weeds out the stubborn ■■■■■ that are likely to be stubborn ■■■■■ to other workers on non-DEI matters.

umm, yeah, let’s go with that…

youd be first on the ■■■■ list

Classy. You know there are brands of decaffeinated coffee that taste just as good as the real thing.

“I cant believe its not coffee”

I guess that’s code for “we’ll explore every corner of the Club!”

Welsh probably wants to become president so he can sell off windy hill to one of his property mates and make bank off redeveloping the oval into a boutique block of poorly insulated shitbox apartments.

Nah, Welsh isn’t interested in property development where there are good services already existing. Much easier to feast on the north western fringe and get Melton Council to make up the shortfall.

Business people know nothing about winning a game of football and skilliing players to win a premiership. they should stick to makeing money.

Essendon president David Barham is also seeking re-election, along with current board member Melissa Verner Green – which means one of that trio will miss out if all three stand for election. The vote will be ratified at the December annual general meeting.
Anybody know what they know about winning a game of football and in turn a premiership ?

do you think board members are inside at training running handball drills?

Hawthorn have an ex-player President, and one other ex-player from what I can see. One ex-umpire. The rest business people. Has their board hurt their performance over the last 20 years?

What do Brisbane have? 2 ex VFL/AFL players maybe? You don’t need ex-players to make good decisions for whatever your business is.

Aren’t we short one board member anyway so we can just parachute the third into the empty seat?

I’m happy to be parachuted in, unless it’s a voluntary position. I dearly hope we aren’t paying the board for their ‘service’

sadly you’d be a DEI hire and we can’t be having that

I can identify as a DEI hire if that helps. Always happy to make up an identity that gets me ahead in life.

ESSENDONFC desperately needs change, the football team has been a failure for 20 years . An opposition team Gold Coast that hadnt won a game playing away for the whole of 2024, they happened to kick the last goal in the closing minutes.
Kicked by a newbie player that kicked 4 goals against us.
Essendon club needs change, they need some people with football knowledge running the club at board level. At the moment they are going downhill.
They dont need pencil pushers running the club.

Why didn’t any of the previous ex-player appointments change the fortunes of the club if football knowledge is so critical to being successful?

What does a single football game against Gold Coast have to do with Board composition?

That’s like saying Myer had one temporarily poorly selling product range so the Board is a failure.

We stuck God on the board, that didn’t seem to help either. He’s now moved off.
