David Barham - Our new Board Overlord

^^ just added the bit you were implying

what would be your approach to getting a list manager with proven success at another afl club to come to essendon

We meet with them and when it comes to salary

It probably has something to do with Vozzo being an ex-list boss with proven success I’d say. He can oversee and knows the traits of someone likely to be good at the job.

Blank cheque

I was in business for a very long time, and with some very big and competent companies. We had a large corporate HR section with highly qualified people, and lots of process, but visits to Tribunals, Court etc on employment matters were more regular than I wanted. And even if you do everything by the book, you win less than half.

We just had a good friend who was recently performance managed out of her job. Her employer has a good process, and all steps were fully documented. Their mistake was that once they sacked her and gave her a months notice, and she decided it was untenable for her stay, they did not pay her out the months termination. She had been there for 22 years, so I helped her get to the FWC. Cost the Company much more in the end.

Why should a business pay out an employee’s notice period if they no longer want to work it?

You didn’t help her get to the FWC. Stop lying.

I’m a fan of Rosa but the Peel argument leaves a lot to be desired. Peel are the Fremantle reserves side and have a far bigger budget, salary cap and advantage than all the other genuine league clubs. If Freo has a fit list then Peel should absolutely dominate the comp with just a few decent recruits

Because FWC decided that it was unreasonable for the Employee to be expected to work given the circumstances of the dismissal which included refusal of her staff to work for her. Her Employer just should have paid what she was due and moved on.

And if you actually work in HR as you claim then you would know of this type of matter. I believe they actually found the dismissal unreasonable as well, but I am not actually certain of that, as I did not go to the proceedings.

I don’t work in hr, but that makes no sense. I have a Heavy Rigid truck licensee, maybe that’s what you’re thinking of.

Definitely HR / Human Refuse

Oh my, that end of 2022 period really does show up as a cluster ■■■■.

Looks like a G-string to me.

I blame the Board from the 2000 to 2005 era. Thats when things started to go bad.
