Ask the FCFC equivalent of the Essendonians. They’re sure to know everything

I expect a call any day.

Lol

Essentially, the board IS headhunting it’s preferred candidate, the process just helps inform them as to who that is from those available.

What a silly question? The best candidate is the one chosen.

Considering the team and squad he inherited his coaching philosophy and style is admirable. We had horrendous skill errors.

Is it though?

Extremely unlikely

another great presser. mixture of honest, frustrated, upset, tiny bit of pride. plus seeing him light up when he got to talk about vigo was cool

Agree. Feel for Solly as he couldn’t have been hired for the full time role given results. But his honesty in press conferences and integrity at selection is really refreshing.

Hope he sticks around next year as I think he has a lot to offer to this young group.

Interesting presser as always.

He was far more critical and demanding than I thought he might be. I really liked how much he hated the final goal.

He seems like exactly the sort of person you’d want around a footy club that’s trying to rediscover its identity and move forward with a young group.

thought it was interesting he said the players want to be coached hard, and hes meeting those expectations of them it seems.

I think hes done well in this interim period, hard to really go forward with anything until a new head coach is appointed.

at least his pressers are better than brad.

I also like that he has real evidence of - okay the way we want it played, it goes well, don’t and we get pantsed.

Hopefully it sinks in that they need to learn and comply with how footy is played and fight for that. And that bodes well for the new coach coming in.

Deep down I have a small wish that Hird gets the job, he and Hird have been talking in the background and that all this work is deeply aligned with what’s going to be coached and expected in preseason. Jump starting progress.

Just tells it like it is…..might be premiership player bias but he’s the opposite of Scott who was just BS personified

Words not deeds though and I’m not expecting much first half next week

Brad Scott destroyed these players, so much so that Solomon is having to go back to basics to decontruct and then start the rebuild.
Whoever the new coach turns out to be Solly has given them something to start with.

Such a relief that both Dodoro and Brad are gone and can’t do anymore damage. Clean slate & big reset for the playing group this preseason with light at the end of the tunnel for the fans…… aahh clean air at last.

Spot on.

I feel like the intention is to be increasingly demanding of the players who will be at the club next season to set a pattern of hard nosed professionalism for the preseason under a new coach.

The “I hated that last goal , setup and structure wise I hated that even though the game is nearly over” was very different in tone to what we’ve heard previously. It’s like an internal discussion was had, Solly says he isn’t going for the job but he’ll make sure the young guys realize that this club is serious about the future and building them for success rather than mollycoddling them into the off-season.

Agree entirely.
