DonsCast podcast

Well fair to say there is a bit to discuss since our last pod.
We welcome Brad Scott and say hello and goodbye to CEO/Ex Ceo Andrew Thornburn all in the 1 episode.
Plus discuss 2 AFLW losses and finalize our player season reviews and finally discuss the Chrichton medal night.

After 3 compleated seasons we have reached our 100th episode.
We were lucky to have 3 guests who we value greatly who have joined us on a number of occasions.

Paul Cousins, Robert Shaw and the Lunch time catch ups own Scott McNeice.

It makes for a long podcast even by our standards but hey its the off season so if you get a chance we would love your feedback.

Over the 100 episodes we wanted to thank a few posters who have given us some great feedback.

Thanks so much Vozdog.
Nick and I appreciate your kind comments.

Terrific 100th show guys… 3 very different but interesting interviews.
It was fascinating listening to Robert Shaw speak about recent events at the club. His experience and knowledge … and the honesty and openess of his answers was really worth listening to.
I reckon Scooter revelled in being the interviewee … he was great. He really loves sharing his knowledge and observations with other supporters … i reckon he could have talked for another hour and would still have been interesting listening.
I agree that the club needs a period of stability and a board challenge would do even more damage… I am not as sold on Barham as some though.
Anyway congratulations on reaching 100, it was a terrific way to celebrate the achievement.

Can’t remember where I heard it but do agree with something that was said along the lines of
ā€œBarham probably isn’t going to be the president when we get our next premiership, but he’s the agent of change we needed to get the processes in place to get the club to a place where we can compete for a premiershipā€

Not necessarily the guy we want, but the guy we need at the moment. I’m happy to back him in… even though he’s made a couple of mistakes, he’s also done a lot right and his communication with members about the review and everything else has been very good compared to previous presidents.

I agree that change was needed… For sure. But Bahrams handling of Ruttens sacking was pretty bad. The Clarkson approach from the outside looked amateurish but ultimately, because of the revelations re treatment of 1st Nations people at Haw, was a lucky miss. The appointment of AT was a huge mistake and damaging for the club. Why was he ever even looked at for the ceo position? No footy (our core business) or even sports admin experience, the nab RC finding… add to that the conflict between church and club. All this was widely known b4 the appointment. I cant even work out how AT was part of the ext review panel - which unfortunately seems to have been made up of mostly corporate types.
Like I said previously I do think the club needs stability now… so I dont think anything good would come out of a board take over. I am happy to support Brad Scott and hope he can change things around on field - I think he can…
off field … the jury is still out for me. Tbh I would prefer fewer corp types on the board.
