Could’ve also gone with “so this is what your good players look like then?”
Sidebottom had a game high tackles, and Choppsuey posted his pressure acts which was high.
His kicking efficiency was very poor though, and he was matched up on Parish at a lot of centre bounces (that I saw thru binoculars).
I’d still have Pendles game ahead of Sidebottom purely on damage value by foot.
Why not? Highlights just how far he has come.
Great game by Andrew “Iron Fist” Phillips.
Love your work flip!
McGrath went to Sidebottom a bit as well, especially F50 stoppages for them. Wasn’t a run with role but clearly had some accountability for him. Arm across at ball ups and thrown ins etc. Led defensive half pressure acts for the match with 11, yet again proving his immense worth on the defensive side of our stoppage game.

The pack mark in the last quarter tells me so much about this guy.
All our forwards are standing behind their opponents, and wanting the ball bombed on their opponents heads… so they can take a run and jump.
Jones is front and centre, and takes a great contested marking. No standing behind his man. No wanting the cheap one out the back… he presents at the ball. You need that, and we haven’t had it since Lloyd retired.
Moving around during a quarter used to be a Sydney thing - Rugby and League supporters, some of them had no interest in the build up to a score
Others were just there on freebies - corporate boxes were the worst.
Tippa needs an early tackle and holding the ball free, after that defenders are nervous.
I’m the same like Buckley and feel sorry for him needs to get out.
Voss is the midfield coach at Port.
Getting Bucks for the same role would be great
Went in our favour for once
The whole ball needs to be over the line.
As someone that was a boundary umpire for 10 years… the ball can look like it’s way out. Yet still be kept in play, if 1mm of the ball is still on the line.
The pocket is a hard spot to get the call wrong. The goal umpire has the perfect view to see if the ball has gone out, and the boundary umpire is on the other side of the player.
I know we enjoy looking at the wins & losses, and making judgements on the team accordingly.
This year, I’m concentrating on the percentage. This will tell us a lot about whether we have improved as a club. If we’re able to keep that percentage above 95%… we have improved as a competitive team.
The issue with our club in recent history is… we win the close ones… but get thrashed when we lose. I want to see us turn into a hard to beat team that never goes away. Thats when we know the culture has changed.
Percentage tells you a lot about the club… I think it’s been very telling over a long time.
The thing with Pendlebury that annoys me most is that the umpires absolutely refuse to ping him when he gets tackled. Playing under a different set of rules.
