I thought their best 6 in order
Quaynor, Pendlebury, Cameron, Crisp, Sidebottom, Maynard
and quite a few
“was he playing? What number does he wear?”
like Rantall, McRae, Ruscoe (apart from the haircut and the mark)

We did have a nice % but then the team forgot to turn up against Brisbane and got thrashed
yep…row ff
Madgen was on him for at least two of them - crazy match up but for some reason they tried it - I guess after walls had kicked some.
Quaynor was always out at half-back. Tippa was rarely out that far.
We’ve got a real head ache when Caldwell and Shiel come back because I think Caldwell, parish, Shiel and McGrath can only play on ball.
Relax. They wont all be fit at the same time.
People might not agree but if Pies were to get rid some of their players I would take Maynard not the most skilful player in the league but i like his application and effort to make life hard for his opponent
i will be the first to say i don’t agree
He’ll be handy player to play a lockdown role on small/medium forwards
@Finding_Nino Do you have a jar labelled ‘shithouse football calls’ that you pick from before you post?
No.
Dasher kicks goals.
…
Must be a half forward.
And the diameter of the ball is approx 18 cm, so the base needs to be about half that (nearly four inches) horizontally beyond the outside edge of the line for the edge of the ball to be beyond the whole of the line. On the view that you get on the replay, there’s clear grass between the line and the ball, but that doesn’t mean it is out.
Now the grass is compressible etc so it’s not exact, but the fact you can see clear gras when the ball touches the ground doesn’t mean it’s out.
who fkng cares. it was out. harmes knock-on was out as well.
guess what, the result stands. there is absolutely nothing to be gained from trying to debate it.
I hope the ball was out by a three and a half meters.
I hope Tippa kicked the hotdog out of a Collingwood fan’s mouth.
I hope that single moment was the one that turned the game.
The more injustice, the better.
Relax. They wont all be fit at the same time.
Definitely not this year but what about next year?
Perkins will also be commanding on ball minutes too.
Good problem to have I guess but will need to be thought through.
As others have responded… it is simply unfair to say this. In the modern game it is never as simple as AMT vs Quaynor.
If you look at Walla’s goals:
1st: Walla ‘won’ a holding the ball decision against another defender - nothing Quaynor can do
2nd: Large pack after a stoppage, pies player mishandles the ball, Walla picks it up and snaps truly - Quaynor is not his direct opponent at stoppage.
3rd: Pie defender - #44 - drops mark, Walla collects crumbs over the back and snaps from the boundary - Quaynor may not have even been on the field.
4th: Walla has a free run through the stoppage and reads the tap for his simplest goal - Quaynor is not involved at the stoppage.
5th: Probably the ONLY goal that Quaynor could have had any influence over… Quaynor contests the marking contest with Stringer (and his opponent) to create a 2 on 1 - but they do not smother the ball over the boundary… instead stringer wins the battle and feeds out a perfect handpass to Walla in space who runs into open goal. Quaynor caught in no mans land after stringer contest - needed to spoil stronger.
So I think it is really unfair to suggest that Quaynor gave up 5 goals… he was playing an attacking HB role with nominal accountability for Walla (potentially due to pace) and was actually one of the pies best. I think Quaynor was one of the few bright spots in a very bad football team.
Genuinely excited about what the EFC are doing at the moment namely, establishing an identifiable, sustainable brand and showing a level of maturity not seen for a long, long time. Selection integrity has been a driver of standards too.
The coaches seem to have the players onboard and getting these wins (Saints / Pies) AND close losses (learnings ), helps reinforce the message and belief.
The guys down back are such a cohesive unit who work hard for each other. Got some decent young talent down there as well.
Seriously, good luck to Fantasia (reckon the bloke has integrity), Saad (you prosper / fail by the choices you make) and Joe (still annoyed but can’t begrudge his need for a new environment, even though he wanted the Swans originally!?).
BUT, the offshoot of their departures has put a broom through the place with a refreshing outlook.
Culture. Culture. Culture. What Truck’s driving IS real. Merrett’s decision to explore his options is getting harder by the week. Surely, he’d be excited about the clubs prospects and likes what he sees?
I realise it is unpopular but I would absolutely consider trading Shiel… we don’t currently have enough depth to consider our midfield complete… but we would be hoping Perkins develops and a couple of others…
Potentially you trade Shiel for 2 late first round picks and thus keep the ‘pipeline’ of youth coming. Or you do what the dogs did with Dunkley… set a price, fair if not slightly overs, and if someone bites then great but if they don’t… you keep a brilliant midfielder. Win/win.
The clubs that have stayed at the top and thus defied the ‘equalisation’ policies are ones that were smarter at list building. The key has been (geelong and hawks were the early pioneers and brilliant) trading regularly to ensure you keep a good balance of ready made players and next gen.
Out of Merrett, Parish, McGrath, Shiel, Heppell, Caldwell, Perkins, Stringer, Walla, Langford and even Cox… then you think Heppell is done as a mid and the next expendable is probably Shiel.
Coons sees himself as an Essendon person now he and the dogs didn’t leave on great terms
Gee I got excited half way through the second thought the shake n bake by Jet and was gonna kick a goal was out of my seat, but another second he would have made contact properly.
Cooney is band wherever Woosha is lol
