Our club is worried about shame to apply for one. If we apply, at least AFL can make sure that Draper compensation is a first rounder.

Mid table finishes have screwed us.
Eagles have won 11 of their last 91 games. We won 11 games last year.

It’s wins over a set period.
To put it bluntly we have been too competitive and always topping up to chase 12th spot.

Fremantle have never won a premiership.
StKilda’s last and only flag was in the 60s.
Choking in finals doesnt make you a cripple.
Essendon just need to start playing football in a style which stands up in finals.

We don’t meet the equalisation parameters? Then change them.
The argument that we’ve won too many games in recent seasons isn’t a strong one when you scrutinise it and consider other factors.
We’re as deserving as any other club. Maybe more so.

And one crap year isn’t enough. It’s multiple.
And not mixed with a bounce back up into finals which we were doing every second year between 2009 and 2021.
We’ve been too good to be crap and too crap to be good.
We don’t deserve assistance.

I disagree being crap for a couple of seasons is nothing…being irrelevant for 10+ seasons then your talking.
Essendon, Carlton, North all have have sustained poor results past their previous success.
Saints, Freo, Crows all have been close but missed the chocolates and spent time at the bottom.
Eagles have a long wait until they reach that criteria 25+ years since last premiership would take them to 2043
20 years without a finals win would take them to 2039 .
It would be great to play finals next year. It would also be great to finish in the bottom 4. Outside of that every other position in the AFL sucks.
I know but that’s not how the AFL looks at it. They only care if a team is non competitive. We’ve been competitive enough.
If you asked a St kilda fan who needed AFL compensation
North, Essendon, Richmond or West coast
They would probably say Essendon and north as they haven’t had recent premiership success like Tigers and Eagles.
Poor old saint fans have the longest drought. Premierships are all that matters.
I’m really not disagreeing. I’m just stating how the AFL decides these things and why we would get knocked back if we asked.
