Dumb Questions Amnesty

I had a blast at that place.

There was also a Magic Mountain on the Gold Coast which was converted into an apartment complex. Had a sleep over there one night.

Now replaced by ā€œThe Beach Houseā€ which is the blandest, most run down, overpriced crap you ever did see.

ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD

On freeways next to the route number, there are white and black signs that would say something like 113R. What is it?

EDIT: It’s only on the structures that have the variable speed signs.

What’s the gist with this under 16 social media ban caper? There seems to be a lot of people up in arms.

I very rarely use Facebook or Instagram, but I do have accounts for them (not the apps on my phone). But I’m 47. Will this effect me if I wanted to look at something on either platform? Is it just those two social media apps that it applies?

Can books go in recycling?

We have plenty of books that are not accepted at the op shop etc. if they can’t, how else do people get rid of them ?

I tend to buy more bookshelves. Currently, there are eleven of them spread thoughout different rooms in the house.

I need to do a cull. The trick is to keep the ones that you think, where’s that…oh, yeah, bugger…about in ten years.

Will MacDonalds and Coca Cola and others now put Micro doses of Ozempic in their products ?

Mrs Rabbit recently went to an auction (not looking, just interested in a price comparison to our house) where the house sold for $300K or 15% over and above the top price estimate.

RE Agents should be penalised much harder by wasting property buyers time and effort like this.

I wonder if seller could write a clause into the contract saying the agents fees will be discounted if they overquote…

id say that’s actually not too bad (if my arithmetic is correct)

The quote price should be within 10% of the reserve, so it’s sold 5% above reserve.

If they did the whole BS vendor bid, I’ll discuss with the vendor/ etc. then that farked.

I think they also get around it by saying the vendor didn’t decide until the day.

auctions just need to be outlawed

Reverse auction is ok.

Then you’d actually get one bid, and the highest price someone is willing to pay.

Going from low to high means it’s just stupid, and you get ā€˜$1 more’ than the second highest bidder.

Yes but how many house buyers can realistically pay up another $300,000?
Not many I reckon.
Basically, the RE Agent has lied in the estimate range.
Then he/she lies to your face.
I think they should be penalised. The best way to do it is the forfeit some of their fees.

Reverse auction is where sellers bid their lowest price for a single buyer (like when you sell services in a term contract for a client who wants to see who has the best bid). As opposed to multiple buyers bidding their highest price for a single seller.

I think you are talking about a blind auction (it was called ā€˜set sale’ by the particular agent, when we bought our place, but maybe that’s just that agent’s term?).

There’s a few options I guess.

Lets say reserve is $2M

Auctioneer starts at $2.5M and slowly goes down until someone says ā€˜yes’ at that price.

That’s the winning bid.

But I guess more pressure on the seller .

Yeah nah - can’t see this ever happening.

I like the Scottish system - sealed bids by a certain date. Other factors considered including length of settlement.
