Bizarre, that one.

Initial reports are 4.5 leongatha way.

I highly doubt the 4.5

I either didn’t feel it or it wasn’t strong enough to get my attention. Woke my wife up, though.

It felt / sounded like something large had landed on the roof and flexed the house frame. But I was half asleep so it didn’t make much sense at first.

I don’t recall such an active period for Melbourne that the last few years have been.

Not nearly as strong as the licola/mansfield one a couple years back? I slept through. On the bigger one, I happened to be on the phone to a mate in the Strathbogies. It hit him about 8-10 secs before it got to NE Melb, which was interesting. He started yelling out to his missus, and I couldn’t tell what was going on, and then the other part of our house that I was looking at through the window started jumping around and distorting slightly!

We’ve probably had 4 earthquakes in Melbourne/ Victoria last 3 years ….more than I can remember in that space of time ……what’s happening to the earth around here? Could there be an even bigger one around the corner ?

Slept though it in Tootgarook

Of course. It’s all literally a question of time. But on geological scales. Humanity may be a distant thing of the past before the Melbourne area copped an 8+ . Or, it might not. iI’s inevitable that it’ll happen. It’s hugely unlikely that we’ll see it. Unless Charles Hapgood / Emmanuel Velikovsky etc were correct.

What’s the chances of having an earthquake in Melbourne Florida and Melbourne Australia within the same day?
