Correct
You nominate a club and get voting rights. Thatās how the AFL membership works.
100%
Yep. And it shouldnāt !
Thanks for your reply.
It didnāt really address any of the actual substantive points inherent in my question which I was at great pains to detail, but thanks.
Theyre no longer part of the AFL executive team.
Why not?
Iām fairly sure some of the membership fees goes toward the nominated club. If you are providing membership fees toward a club, you deserve a vote in their governance processes.
ADD: I am an AFL member but also an Essendon AFLW member, so Iād get voting rights either way.
Sheesh.
Heās making the exact same point which has been made numerous times in here.
And itās one I agree with.
Irrespective of that, I canāt argue with the assessment of him being a flog. Thatās correct no matter what he said.
If you heard Weston interview and thought, āyep heās the right guy for usā Iām worried for you.
A Sheedy puppet basically.
āsome of the membership feesā says a lot. The AFL members are getting voting rights in my Club at bargain basement rates. Iām a longtime member of my Club, not the fugging AFL, the gang of thugs who screwed us over in the drugs fit-up. Iād like to see the AFL in its present format discontinued. That wonāt happen for a while yet, but in the meantime theyāre getting as little of my support as possible.
you get an email if your eligible. maybe check spam in case, otherwise probably not
Just listened to the Weston interview. Appalling. āWhen I was doing the 200m run in the 80s with Terry Daniherā¦ā
Christ on a ā ā ā ā ā ā ā bike.
Rambles on about Terry Daniher and Jobe Watson recommitting. Jeeeeeeeesus.
āso this is my agendaā
WHICH IS WHAT? REMINISCING ABOUT THE OLD DAYS?
āso what can you bring to the club??ā
āwell I was the youngest captain of Glenelg at South Australia, I was a national sales manager, so ive had experience with leading people⦠if we can get people to put in more effort in the last 200m, then there will be a considerable improvement across the teamā
LOL. this person cannot be allowed on the board.
This attitude confuses the issue - the resolution doesnāt seek to stop anyone from gambling or remove their choice.
The choice that itās concerned with one made by any individual, itās a choice thatās made by the club; who continue to choose to keep its financial state reliant on operating in an industry that causes terrible damage across society and well beyond the individual who plays the machine.
By all means disagree with that but donāt think that it has anything to do coming after peopleās individual choices.
Opinions are like ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā . Everyone has one.
What matters is your opinion.
You have a right to vote however you like.
Use it or donāt.
Thereās no right or wrong really. What will be, will be.
I donāt expect everyone to vote the way I do and donāt begrudge anyone voting for Weston if thatās what they want.
Itās up to the board as a whole to deal with whatever issues come about. One singular person wonāt change the path weāre on greatly. Itās not a āif Iām in weāll win so much youāll be bored of winningā rubbish. Itās more in the small percentages and margins that the difference will be. And it could be better, or could be worse. But the overall path will pretty much be similar. The only time it re-sets is when there is major upheaval like we went through in 2022.
If you want a large amount of change and to completely alter the path weāre on, a board challenge is what youāre looking for.
A lot of words expended there snowflake
Iād love to help you out, but Iāve been questioning my own choices after thinking Mark Latham was going to make a good PM. And we all know how that turned out.
Weston seems like a guy that would call someone out without listening to an interview as well.
Little boy, or Fat man
