A bit like general election rules that are rigged towards Parties and their Donors.
Even the changes Jacinta has made make no difference for the real independent, or even Parties.

You should label @Shelton10, he means well, probably a Board member.
HmmmâŚhe was not who I was referring to.
Oh, I am just so shocked that you would attack @percebushby this way !![]()

FMD. This is the exact corporate doublespeak that has affected the club for years. Most of the claims in your post are contestable. For example
How much of the footy ops loss was in payouts to fwitz the board employed?
Just because you spend x dollars on certain departments does not gaurantee results. (Business 101). You can spend less on the right people with the right motivation and methods and do better.
I could go on.
Thank f you didnât run for the board.
And thank f you donât either!
not enough members give a sht about it to be considered systematic enough to qualify as rigging
Sad but true
The first one is rigging, but it doesât happen and you know it doesnât.
As for the second, itâs so vague that itâs meaningless.
The club is taking on questions from members for the 2025 AGM. What questions do you really want to ask of the Board? If youâre not a member feel free to nominate your question and no doubt some members on Blitz could lodge on your behalf. Go!
As a 2025 Eligible (Voting) Member, you are invited to attend the 2025 Essendon Football Club Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held at the Essendonians Function Centre, The NEC Hangar, 32 Watson Drive, Melbourne Airport, Victoria 3045 on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 6:30 pm. Registrations open from 6:00pm, and entry is restricted to 2025 Eligible (Voting) Members of the club and their valid proxies only.
SUBMIT YOUR QUESTION
During the meeting, time will be put aside to answer questions from members. If you have a question that you would like addressed during the AGM, you can submit it here by 5pm Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
Those question times are useless.
Q: Are we going to get better this year?
A: We have an outstanding team working under our head coach Brad Scott and CEO Craig Vozzo. Weâre very confident that weâll see real improvement. Of course it takes time âŚ..
Q: Why havenât you sacked Brad Scott? Heâs had 3 years and been â â â â â â â hopeless.
A: This question was not considered suitable for discussionâŚ..
Considering all the âgovernanceâ issues the club has endured, I would still like to know who was responsible for the appointment of Thorburn?
Who interviewed him for the job and who conducted background checks?
How much did his appointment cost the club?
Who in their right mind considers it good governance to employ the person who conducted an internal review, and who interviewed club employees and players under confidentiality?
The board has never really taken responsibility for this debacle.
And I might add, are those responsible still on the board? And if so Why havenât they resigned ? as they are far from the professionalism we as members expect from board members, particularly those who are appointed and not elected.
Background checks were outsourced to a consulting company as part of the process. Football clubs themselves wont have the HR resources to do that level. Board members are volunteer work only so they wont have the time either as they have their own full time roles.
What background check would have achieved anything? His role at NAB was on the public record. If it was the religion, no recruiter or HR is going to touch that with a 10 foot pole as itâs illegal to discriminate based on religion, as we found out after firing him.
You donât address any counter-arguments presented to you, instead choosing to grandstand and make a misdirecting accusation.
Itâs almost like youâre a lawyer or something.
Disappointed a few more of these candidates havenât appeared on one of the numerous Essendon fan podcasts available.
Was their any evidence that he was using religion to persecute staff at NAB. Yes, there were financiaal issue with the bank that were being investigated by regulators.
Only Andrew Welsh asked to come on to our show. No one else reached out
