He is a good player and by all accounts a good person.
But he embodies much of what is wrong with the club. He was elevated into a leadership role by the decision-makers without ever showing genuine leadership qualities.
His position of authority stems primarily from being chosen at pick one, not from demonstrated success driven leadership ability.
As a result, he now exerts significant influence over many younger players. He’s teaching younger players that it’s more important to speak well than train and play well.
