Those expecting any legitimate training session this morning would have been bitterly disappointed. I think Hirdy spoke to the press for about the same time as the team showed up on the McCracken Oval in cool but fine conditions.
I had arrived as usual before 10.15am even though the website had specified 10.45am for a training session this morning. Many parents turned up with their kids at around 10.45 only to find an empty oval as players appeared at around 10.15 and finished about 20 minutes later. To say the session was light would be an understatement. A bit of kick to kick, handball and kicking for goal was the limit of the efforts and only about half the players were in attendance.
Be that as it may, I captured a few snaps for those desperate enough to need a fix…
