England: The Binface Farage Mirage

Hopefully the people in the actual seat know Farage even better…

This is pretty meaningless given the British public are mostly not voting in Clapton.

I’m expecting restore UK to take over from reform, Rupert Lowe seems more prime ministerial to me and he’s more hardline.

I think he gained a lot of respect by crowd funding the grooming gangs investigation, which Farage promised to do but never got around to.

In the absence of preferential voting, he might sink both of them.

They only ran in 10 or 11 seats but won them all. Issue was getting the candidates.

Candidates were not good enough, or not bad enough?

Apparently the Temu Trump needs a GPS to find his seat.

Yeah exactly, I’m not sure how they are going to navigate that as Farage and Lowe can’t stand each other, so I doubt they’ll come to a compromise.

Farage will likely win tbf. Too many rusted on Reform and ex-Brexiteers in Clacton for Restore or the Count to topple him (imho mind you) .. voxpops though are unearthing plenty residents underwhelmed by his antics, his financial affairs and direct large contributions he trousers, and him always being away on speaking jaunts and over in the U.S trying to ingratiate himself to the right wing conference attendees. The mood has def changed since 2024.

The unfortunate murder of Anne Widdicombe (an ex-Tory and Reform MP before she retired, and widely regarded and active in the media) last week has thrown the cat amongst the pigeons. An unbelievable incident, out of the blue which has shone a light once again onto the security of MPs here, given several similar incidents over recent years befalling sitting MPs. And arson attempts on Starmer himself by Russian proxies in London I might add. Awful stuff. And Farage would be top of the list of MPs receiving threatening tweets, posts, emails and public interactions directly I’d wager. Milkshakes and all ..

The by-election will cost £300-400K to conduct I understand. Reform offered to fund it but that’s a complete no-no within electoral laws. Its a needless circus but unless it all goes south for him these next few weeks he’ll prolly be preening his way back up to Westminster.. ugh.

Count Binface though. Well his stature will have been enhanced that’s a definite.

This isn’t offical Binface stuff, it’s a parody account using AI.

I do think if the public push binface too hard they may actually annoy Farage’s voters to get out to vote.

It’s hard to understand how the voters of Clacton will go. Binface may get younger people to vote. It will be an interesting result. Farage will win, but by what margin? It needs to be a complete landslide to Farage for him to declare it a ‘mandate’. I’m just not sure it will be.

We‘ll stay out no matter if left or right there is no need to return to an undemocratic political mafia bloc run by upper class aristocrats in Brussels

Because the upper class aristocrats in London are doing a bang up job…

They could get rid of the house of lords.

And have it more like the senate here.

Does Clayton have many younger voters?

I think keeping the focus on Farage rather than his opponent is critical. Have his supporters less motivated by his actions, have non-supporters angry at him, and hope only one group comes out to vote.

Don’t get his supporters angry and motivated. By having every man and his dog supporting Binface making him the focus/driver of perceived attacks on them.

Not many young folk in Clacton, but getting any of them to vote is a good start.

Really interesting info here Seat Details - Clacton

Average age 56, 33% good education, 96% white, 43% employed, 64% in ‘deprived’ conditions. Damn. A town of pensioners, whose kids don’t stay around.
