EPL 2024/25

No one is getting sacked after losing to the best team in the league. Everyone expects to lose against Liverpool

It’s not that Spurs lost to us, but the way they defend, how open they are. We could’ve scored 7 or 8. Spurs under Ange reminds me of Bazball. It’s like ā€œthis is the way we playā€ regardless of circumstances, and IMO in professional sport that’s not good enough. You have to adjust, you have to have the ability to go through the gears, or be a bit more pragmatic against the better teams. At the end of the day, results will dictate whether Ange keeps his job or not. But he can’t have too many more games where they set up so naively and get whacked.

How many games have spurs been whacked? Appreciate you guys are the best team in the world at the moment. As a spurs supporter seen too many loses, just can’t recall being whacked until today. Even with this naive setup. Don’t buy into the media. Until today I’d be suprised if spurs have lost many more than 1 goal.

Always plenty of goals with the spuds. And WTF with Bournemouth. Brilliant result for them. Ten bob gone by Christmas. Oh , hang on a minute…

2 years in a row the Cherries have beaten us 3 zip at OT.
The cowards in charge still won’t accept that the squad is gash

Also agree Liverpool should have put in 9 today. It looked like a training drill.

UNITED ARE BACK

Expected to wake up and see 2-4, but 3-6 is a bit hideous.

When was the last time City were out of the top 6 at Christmas?

Forest v Tottenham after Christmas.

Djed and Brennan return to the city ground. Hopefully it’s not a happy visit.

It’ll be a very interesting watch because Nuno tailors our setups and formation to suit the opponent , and Spurs are definitely an offensive threat. But we can be dangerous on the counter with CHO , Elanga, Wood etc. Anderson has been an excellent signing too.

Forest too strong for spurs. They have been great to watch

Brennan has been off the bench a bit recently. Glad to see Djed getting a run but he’s being played on the wrong side with Porro in his spot.

Djed over the last few games has been really good. Porro is too inconsistent for mine. Love his passion but need consistency from him.

I love both those lads for obvious reasons , but unless things have changed Djed is best suited as a wing back with a decent defensive line to cover for him. He’s at his best creating offensive chances. Very pleased for him if he’s settled into a permanent role at Spurs . He needs a people person manager to make him feel valued. It was never, ever going to be Conte.

You could have written your own ticket for the top-6-at-Christmas bet , lol.

I rate Villa so that doesn’t really shock me. But Forest and Bournemouth !!? Lol, no way.

TBH Djed has been treated awfully by spurs. Bought and told he was not wanted by the manager would be a horrible way to start. Sent out on loan and seemed lost but whenever I watched him you could see the talent. Ange has made him work for it, included him in the first team but then the exclusion from the Euro squad was baffling. Atleast he now feels like a Spurs player and is repaying the faith.

There was a fair degree of disappointment amongst the Nottingham fan base when he took the ā€œTottenham moneyā€ after promotion. Partly because plenty wanted him to stay with Forest, but also there was a good natured want for things to turn out well for him - he was such a feel good talisman in a ridiculous run to promotion - and Spurs didn’t really seem to fit. He copped a hard time under Warnock at Borough, flourished under Cooper for us when allowed to play attacking roles with Brennan , then went to Conte who immediately suggested he didn’t like the signing!? Just didn’t seem the right call, other than financial.

Spence’s main issue is his attitude I think. We sent him back half way through his loan period when we were crying out for a right back. In his first game at Leeds he spent more time thinking he was a number 9 than defending.

Amorim knows it is.

Is just whether they’ll allow him to sell the players for half the price they were bought for.

Their value isn’t going to go up that’s for sure.
Even if you can’t flog them off you still don’t have to play them.

Lots written and spoken about Spurs atm … unsurprisingly it has to be said. Fanbase are 50-50 on Ange maintaining his high line, attack minded devil may care style of play. Parallels of the Ossie Ardiles ā€˜famous five’ era back in the 90s even. But it’s true, they’re easy to open up with Ange’s high line once they lose possession. And the Reds had plenty of it.

Spurs have key outs injured tbf. But Liverpool could’ve won this 3-8. They’re in for Ā£20m this January apparently, so nicking James Trafford off Burnley as a backup keeper is a no brainer priority. He’s an excellent talent.

Henry Winter (who I rate more than most football journos) thinks Ange needs a cup this season to survive. Well the League Cup has them drawn vs Liverpool in the semi, so maybe the FA or Europa still? Who knows.

Martin Samuel in the Times has his say as well:

ā€œAnd are we not entertained? Well, yes, in a way. But not in a way that is sustainable for the club laying on that entertainment, who sit 16 points off Liverpool, but 17 ahead of Southampton and enter the Christmas period in the bottom half of the table for the first time since 2008-09. Because put like that, it doesn’t seem much fun at all.ā€

Forest away up next on Boxing Day, who are flying. But it’d just be Ange’s Spurs all over to go there and pinch a win in the last few minutes. A Spence cross to Johnson lurking for the smashed in winner
