EPL 2024/25

Absolutely dire performance. Played off the park for the best part of 80 minutes by the worst team in EPL history on our turf. 3 late goals papered over the cracks of a truly diabolical game

The club can’t do anything in the transfer market until the summer due to PSR. It’s why the stories came out about being open to offers for our academy players, because doing so assists with complying with PSR.

Our defending is a f*cking disgrace.

Players just standing in space, thinking that they’re doing something.

De Ligt had a howler. Fk me, if your fellow CB gets beaten, you need to come across to cover him. Instead he stays on his line, while the Southampton striker has a straight run at goal.

tf logic is this? pass the pipe brev

The logic is that Jim has zero idea about football and will purely look at results

the media will still go united because it was diabolical apart from 1 mercurial 12 minutes. to think otherwise is delusion

Of course the media will and so will the fans and anyone who knows football. I doubt Jim knows or cares though

Jim will Probably want to sell Amad

but also think an oil baron cares about media or fans?

Absolutely not. My point is that most of the oil barons and billionaires do manage to keep at arms length from the club and employ good football people to run the show. Jim is far too hands on and is absolutely clueless so the club is only going to go backwards under him

I think you need to get off the pipe if you think the owners should sit on their hands and do nothing, whilst we were completely outplayed by one of the worse teams in PL history on our own turf.

with what $s m8? we’re PSRd out the wazzoo, and all the fans are saying the players are ■■■■ so what $s will we get?

da owners can’t do ■■■■ all until glazers have been removed.

people wont vote with their wallet, so just enjoy amad

That’s not my problem to figure out. If you choose to get into bed with the Glazers to take part ownership of the club then you better have a bloody good plan in place and have the right people around you to take the club forward.
Sacking a manager halfway through a season and then putting your own guy in and then tell him sorry mate this is what you’ve got until the summer is absolute w@nk. I’d be furious if I was Amorim.

This isn’t a bombshell that the owners have dropped on Amorim. This is an issue that the public has known about since the last transfer window which required us to sell McTominay to free up our spending capacity for the season. There is no other way around it than selling players like Mainoo, Garnacho and Rashford. I think most of the decisions the owners have made so far are appalling, but their hands are tied until July on player recruitment.

did we put a gun to his head to get him to accept the job?

Of course it’s no bombshell but if you’re going out of your way to sign Amorim from Sporting, then need to pay them compensation to get him in then you need to be in a position to back him as well. That’s just my opinion. All you are doing is inviting pressure on yet another manager as the inevitable bad results will come.
If it requires tough decisions like selling Rashford then so be it. They should of already sold players like Casemiro, Lindelof and Eriksen to help with PSR imo anyway.

Well Amorim did say he wanted to wait till the end of the season but we gave him the ultimatum that it was now or never. My point is though, if you’re going to get your own guy in, then you should be in a position to back him and give him the resources he needs. Paying another club compensation which exacerbated the PSR issue was probably not the smartest move.

And that’s why I don’t see the point in critcising lack of investment in Amorim. Amorim knew this was the case when he signed, and the players we would most like to get rid of would do nothing or little to help us with PSR.

Rashford is impossible to offload because we gave him a huge contract. He would count as pure profit since he was a youth product. Casemiro only has the Saudi league as a realistic buyer. We spent big on him too, so there’s only a loss to he had there. Lindelof is worth nothing, definitely no more than we spent on him. Eriksen is worth nothing since he’s out of contract at the end of the season. No one comes to mind as someone we can make a profit on that we paid money for. It’s academy products or nothing.

Yep, agree on owners. just have a look at Leicesters situation. Once Vichali died and power transferred to his Son, it became apparent very quickly he had no idea how to run a club. Getting advice from Rudkin is like asking Dodoro how to run a club.

30 posts today. Might be poop, well they are called Manure, but still relevant. :grinning:
