True, maybe that was a bit of a stretch given United were relegated in 1974. Premier League team would of been spot on.
Well played ![]()

Of course contracts donāt mean a great deal with release fees etc, but Murillo signing to 2029 is a huge statement for Forest.
I donāt get that. He had 10 of his best team out injured, and is spite of that that still in the hunt to win a cup or two.
If Ange gets the sack then there is no justice at all in EPL
Itās a results based industry and if you take on a role at one of the bigger clubs you are always just a few bad results away from the chop. Injuries or not they are closer to a relegation spot than a European spot and that spells trouble
Very kind of you to call Tottenham a bigger club. Maybe in revenue and stadium attendance thatās about it.
Very unexpected 3-2 win for Tottenham with just 13 players in their entire squad available.
Hopefully a turning point! Romero back in full training, Micky vdv due to resume training next week.
horrific own goal from the rangers keeper
Ex United keeper ![]()
EAD Huns
Just when I was ready to right Son off, he nets a brace.
Iāve just seen this, gotta be a new low for own goals.
Does this mean that Son is now right on?
At least itās not us giving away ā ā ā ā goals from a corner for a change
Chris Wood just signed a 2 year deal with Forest
Kinda surreal having a Kiwi as our striker but heās killing it
Sky Sports often put on repeats of previous EPL years, the goals and the season month by month to its finale. One of my favourite early seasons though was just broadcast (for the 200th time I reckon) it being the 95/96 when United came from a way back to overtake Kev Keeganās Newcastle to win the title. Was the one when Cantona literally dragged MU over the line in the second half of the season and Keegan losing it on telly. You know with the finger pointing āand⦠Iāll tell you, honestly, I will love it if we beat them, love it!" in response to Fergyās little digs and mind games as his United reeled them in.
But hell there were some great players and goals back then. Just a few in their pomp, like
. Arsenal - Ian Wright, Bergkamp (absolute master he was) and that famous back five.
. Leeds - Tony Yeboah (and that crashing strike still remains my favourite PL goal), McAllister, Speed and an up and coming Harry Kewell
. United - Cantona, Giggs, Andy Cole and the class of ā93 youg āuns.
. Newcastle - Sir Les Ferdinand, Ginola, Tino Asprilla.
. Blackburn - Shearer, Le Saux, Colin Hendry
. Liverpool - Stan Collymore, Fowler, Rush and the likes of Macca
. Everton- Big Duncan Ferguson, Andrei Kanchelskis
. Chelsea under Glen Hoddle and building, had Ruud Gullit, Di Matteo. Dan Petrescu was already there and soon Vialli and Zola would arrive.
. And Spurs had lost Klinsmann but Sheringham was there and battled on.
I mean it was as exciting a League season as I can remember. Was an absolute cracker with stars everywhere and fantastic matches. That 4-3 to Liverpool v Newcastle still stands out.
Anyway ⦠back to 2024/25 and Haalandās boring headers and tap ins. 30 years ago though, it was genuinely super fun and exciting. Mind you, Forest, Bournemouth and has to be said, Liverpool are putting a more than decent show on this season ![]()
Personal view, still the most technically correct footballer Iāve ever seen.
Wouldnāt disagree with that either.
Liverpool an easy afternoon, 4-1 at Anfield with goals from Dom, Mo and Gakpo (x2).
