Just reading some media speculation that Nottingham are trying to get Eddie Nketiah . That makes some real sense for us as a depth striker, but not sure if Arsenal would be willing to either sell or loan him out at a decent price, nor whether he’d want come and be 2nd or 3rd choice behind Awoniyi and Wood.
Early reports suggest that Danilo’s broken ankle will see him out until at least Christmas and you’d have to think a fair chance that it’s the season done.
When Ravel Morrison played for the Hammers he said that Sam Allardyce would fine any player who had a shot from outside the box. Watching the spuds for the last 15 minutes makes me think Big Ange has taken a leaf out of big Sam’s book.
I think we will be ok this year. McKenna’s openly stated survival is the goal but would love another run similar to 2001! Our No 1 keeper Muric out at min but some good signings in past week with Kalvin Phillips & Cajuste on loan from Man City and Napoli as well as perm signing of champions top scorer Sammie Szmodics from Blackburn.
We pushed Liverpool in 1st half, Man city next, doesn’t get any easier! COYB!
My UK mate sent me a jokey Insta video about how Spurs are great cos you only need to watch the first quarter of each season then you have free time to do other stuff.
I explained to him about Essendon’s season fall aways and late losses.
I didn’t have the strength to watch this game early this morning as I need to flush Essendon out of the system first
Getting Moreno on loan from Villa seems a considered and astute bit of business given the state of our list. Again, this feels a more targetted and less scatter gun transfer period from Forest hierarchy, which should be a good thing.
Also sounds like Nketiah is coming from Arsenal. This one is somewhat less clear unless Awoniyi is still far more injured than known. We do need depth because Wood is relatively ancient, but £30m is a lot to pay for depth! He might be very dangerous playing off Elanga / MGW / CHO as a pacy front half though, if that’s how we decide to line up.
