EPL 2024/25

All clubs get tax payers money. It’s more than just United who will benefit.
The Government will use it as a bargaining tool when bidding for World Cup, Euros etc

United through to the Europa QFs, getting past R Sociedad 4-1 (agg 5-2). The Spanish went down to 10 but United deserved this. Bruno with a fine hat trick.

Turned out a good night for the English clubs. Ange and his Spurs win well vs AZ and Chelsea in the Conference creep past Copenhagen 1-0 on the night.

Best performance for a long, long time

Spurs didn’t make it easy, a howler to make the tie equal again, and were wildly open at the back at times. Brilliant team goal for the clincher though.

Ratcliffe has said they still have to pay just over 100 million quid this summer just to finish paying for players they already bought. They will still want to buy other multi million pound players as well. I don’t know how the fair bizzo is supposed to play out but being businessmen the owners will look to any financial help they can get to build a new stadium.
They should ask our slippery owner, Sullivan, if they can ground share at our gaff. Most United fans are Londoners anyway.

Forest are dreamy to watch.

They are giving so much joy, they love playing together, have a crazy passionate manager and have brought in players moneyball style that weren’t getting a go at their previous clubs due to age or opportunity. Please note Essendon.

That’s given us a small break in 3rd , and now the Arsenal / Chelsea game becomes fascinating. Chelsea lose and we’re 5 points clear. Arsenal lose and we’re 1 point off second. It’s ludicrous. No one is catching Liverpool, but that aside this has been a Leicester 2016 type season for us. Enjoy it whilst it lasts.

Incidentally, it shows how random, pressure impacted -and great- the FA Cup can be. We were extremely fortunate to squeeze past Ipswich a week ago in a Cup tie at City Ground, today we bury them on their home turf.

Two good traditional English clubs put on a really good match. Forest purring and a step or two ahead of the Tractor boys at the mo’. But Ipswich’s Jens Cajuste scored a v excellent goal…I’m sad they’ll likely go down as think with a better manager they’d have had a better chance to survive.

And Morgan Gibbs-White being overlooked for this recent England squad named? What an absolute joke.

I don’t care in the slightest. Keep him fit , available and focused on Forest. :grinning:

Wolves beating Southampton makes Ipswich’s task extremely difficult now.

Which brings us to the Saints. I never thought anyone could challenge Derby for the worst points season ever, but they’re giving it a crack. I do think they’ll likely surpass 11 , but 9 points from 29 played is horrific. They’ve a match against Leicester in a few weeks that might be the moment that Derby retain their worst ever status, and we can all rejoice in that.

Maybe if a couple of other EPL clubs apart from us had taken points of the Scousers ……

We might be the only game they lose all season.

Arteta will somehow claim that that makes Arsenal the real “champions”:rofl: .

Hammers get a point at Everton to save a bit of face against the moyesiha. Had most of the game and let the toffees equalise in injury time.

Came up on my wife’s FB. Upton Park getting bombed by the Luftwaffe in 1944. Good job the Hammers were away that day😄. In the background you can see Boleyn Castle, the reason why the ground was also called the Boleyn, where Henry’s wife Anne was supposed to meet her boyfriend before he chopped her head off.

Yep. This season is our setup season need the national teams to hold.

To me, second and third are equally fantastic and equally meh.

Want Arsenal to win against anyone 4-8. We can lock the Champions League in with a few games to spare.

Sessegnon, perennially injured for Spurs, comes on for Fulham and bends us over in a minute to close the game.

BIG DAN BURN

Newcastle dare to dream at half time.
