Where did the manager come from mrjez. I thought Ange was just ok but this bloke looks like he is really struggling?
He was doing well with Brentford. Always seemed tactically astute and able to adapt, so not sure why it’s not gelling. Maybe he needs some transfer windows to shape the squad a bit, but he’s got the talent to be doing better.
When Spurs appointed Frank to replace Ange, I didn’t think he was a definite upgrade on him. He might be struggling at a big club with ambition. At Brentford, his brief was pretty simple, and that was to stay up. He did a great job there. But at Spurs expectations are much higher, he’s working with players with bigger egos and above playing his style of football, which is very much set up to nullify the opposition rather than play themselves. Given Tottenham’s insistence on playing expansive, attacking football, unless Frank gets results he will be on a pretty short leash given the style of play.
On one view wins against Spurs and Bayern and a draw away at Chelsea is a pretty good bit of work for one week, but Arteta was not satisfied and neither am I.
Still in shock united turned it around last night
No disgrace to go down to a naggingly decent Brighton side these days. Seagulls are well managed and coached, stable club and they recruit and bring in good value talent consistently e.g. like De Cuyper, Gomez and their new Greek forward Tzimas. And Mitoma who’s a little genius too. Add some old heads Dunk, Wellbeck and they’re always damn difficult to beat.
Forest couldve done with Murillo too .. he makes a difference back there. And after last season’s 7-0 shellacking last season by Forest at the City Ground, Brighton def had the bit between their teeth for this return away match. Came out breathing fire
Man U are no more than a team just outside Europa or just inside so any wins against teams near us are good wins. If Amorim is to fix us, he is going to need 2-3 years, it’s not like Slot where if he gets the arse it will take a while for Liverpool to bounce back. They’ll be back in the top 3 within weeks, not years.
Ratcliffe is the worry, his car company is going bust and soon his chemical empire will as well. He can make as many cuts as he likes to the back office but regarding signing players, we cant afford to miss on any of them
Should have sold to the Arabs
Agreed, especially given the context that chelsea were down to 10 men in the match. Honestly felt like we were the ones playing with 10 men.
It was noted during the week after the spurs and bayern game our players felt heavy-legged, also no doubt the saliba last minute injury was a bit of a blow.
Even still I was disappointed in our performance against chelsea, they were the much better team. I just feel we didn’t assert any dominance in the game, we struggled to keep the ball on the ground, so many stoppages in play and we were really slow in our play.
Overall though it’s been a good week, but gotta respond with a win against Brentford.
I go pretty much every home game at the Emirates and was there for the Bayern match where we looked scintillating.
Yesterday right from the outset Chelsea were all over us, we were sloppy, losing duels and they were at us. Even with 10 it rarely felt like we had a man advantage. Good week overall but felt like a massive missed opportunity.
Not sure how Romero’s bicycle got through the traffic, but a decent Spurs performance away at Newcastle. Take the 2-2.
need a big 3 from forest.
just gotta clear that relegation zone.
i hear chelsea coming after murillo with an offer we cant refuse. sheeeeet.
HUTCHINSON AGAIN
JESSSSSSSUS
USE THE SUBS THE DUDES R COOKED
Nice to see my Gunners finally closing these tough games out. The last few seasons that would have ended up a draw, and those lost points are what cost us.
Leeds are going to beat the Chavs.
Pool 1-0 down at home to Sunderland with 10 minutes to play
Liverpool draw 1-1 after a deflected Wirtz shot. So laborious with the ball. We are making it easy for teams who sit in and want to defend with 10 men.
Villa just quietly slide up to 3rd.
Leeds looked so much better with two up front.
Not a high bar, but easily the best we’ve looked all season.
Deadset nervous for our gunners travelling to villa, hope rice is ok and saliba is fit for that match on Saturday
Will take an ugly away win any day
