3 Hibberd/Hooker could have gone either way. Both were great and I think Cloke scored a late goal cos Hooks was up the ground trying to win the game.

1 Stanton. I heard a guy behind me call him a ‘gimp’. I nearly proclaimed him as ‘my gimp’ after a couple of his goals, thought it may have started fight and we need to be as one at the moment. Was not Stant’s fault we lost, yet he was still scapegoated again…

In my book, Hurls was in the votes but in the last quarter was moved forward and I think was out marked by the faux-toughman a couple of times and was less effective forward today. Arguably had enough credits in the bank though. It was not his fault that he was moved forward, and he had a great first 3 quarters, I think he also had a hand in a final quarter goal.

Fletch was pretty close, did his usual “Fletch” stuff and after that goal, I thought we would finish over the top of the opposition.

I think Bags had a great game too.

Zach Merrett was pretty good as was Heppell.

  1. Stanton - great game. He has his deficiencies but he never ever stops running and presenting. About 21 of his teammates could learn something from his endeavour.
  2. Hooksey - great game on Cloke, only got exposed on a few occasions by turnovers up the ground.
  3. Hibberd - first good game of the year.

Heppell accumulated as always but I felt he didn’t have much of an impact.
