We were utterly outclassed. Some of the football played by Essendon tonight was amateurish. Carlton put the cue away in the last quarter and we still failed to score.
We are so bad it’s just hard to see where the next win will come from.
Rutten may not be the issue but this game plan, if you can call it that, is a putrid mess.

Merrett was OK, Jones looked great early on as did Draper.
Hobbs, Caldwell and Martin were average, Durham and Perkins were below average.
Kelly, Cutler, Heppell and Jake were poor. Jake will improve, the rest will not.
