I think it has been underrated how much we have missed Jones in our forwardline… as a lead up marking forward. Francis tried today but just not up to it.
But plenty of positive with Swans clearly ahead of us in their development and style… our midfield looks very strong… Draper can only get better hopefully… Our small defenders are good and Ridley is great… just missing a ‘monster’ defender - Steward is not the answer. Maybe Reid?
I think we are a key forward, key back and improvement away from being something really special. The boys are tiring and its been a mammoth effort. I’d put this game down in the ‘competitive’ column again and that is great.
Yes the lure of finals was nice but ultimately we aren’t ready and that’s ok. We still have built some really nice belief in this group… got the signatures of Merrett, Parish and Stringer. We are set for a monster 2022.

Coaching strategy needs a lot of work this offseason……the amount of coast to coast goals this year has been horrendous….also we need smarter players….and we need to recruit tougher players.
