Ex-#10 Saint Francis, off to the Sydney Diocese

Genuinely excited about our backline group led by Francis. Just needs to believe a bit!!

At their best…
Francis calm precise sublime. If he could grow in confidence his decision making and skill is a delight to watch. If his 15 to 20 possessions a game, kicks especially, finds a lose teammate 30/40m forward we are going to score often. A surgeon with the ball!

Ridley could be anything. Bordering on elite.
Lav big body suited to attacking. Inspired
position change

BZT can take care of tall and mid size alike
Guelfi Hind Heppell blue collar junk yard dogs

Ambrose Stewart Redman keep pressure on the system.

Looks like we’ve covered Connor and Saadsack departure very quickly.

Need to improve our kick in strategy. Nice to go coast to coast every now and then.

No love then for Lav?

Noticed on the replay,
Slightly rolled an ankle with 5mins to go, played out the game though.

should never be put in the last line of the back line? should only play half back Flank! so he can use his intercepting ability

If waterman can be dangerous and kick a few goals , and permanently nail down the forward pocket position ,tippa does have to play in the forward pocket ,he run around and be more dangerous you saw against the Saints he hardly played in the forward pocket area

If Guelfi wasn’t in that last contest Frang would’ve got all ball and destroyed Higgins all in one fell swoop.

Shows the importance of BZT or Stewart to this team. It releases Francis and Ridley who could become a real force over the next few years.

Why didn’t Guelfi play in the start of the season

By the way, how dfid brainded retten go for you last game?

Am hoping for the best with Lav but the jury is still out.

I see Reid replacing BZT and key backs of Ridley, Franga and Reid could be pretty good.

Reid, BZT and Stewart competing for one spot. In the long run it may be Reid, but it depends on whether BZT can lift his intensity and whether the Stewart experiment will work. I like Stewart’s long accurate kicking ability but is he durable? The competition will be healthy for us. I had thought Francis was gone at the end of last year, but he has definitely lifted his intensity and showing more strength in the contest. With a little more improvement he will make the backline impenetrable. Great to see. Then … the planned move of Hurley up forward, where he began his career could add some real power up front. An interesting year ahead.

How do we fit Hurley in with Hooker, Stringer, Jones and 2MP?

From what you hear, it’ll be 3 months before Hurley is remotely close to playing again. He mightn’t want to put back every one of those 10kg he’s lost though.

What are the chances that more than 50% of our talls will be fit at the same time?

It’s lucky we playing St Kilda they are in a disarray? they are pathetic, they didn’t have the two prime ruckman, so rutten lucky has nothing to do with the win

Very good game from Francis - usually we have a number of FFS moments with him but can’t recall him doing anything bad bar spoiling Ridley MOTY contender but even that was the right thing getting across to help

Zerk coming into team one key to allowing him to play a more natural game, the other was our pressure upfield.

We didn’t have ruckmen either, though, did we?
So you reckon Saint’s coach is braindead?

You can’t say our ruckman in the same high standard that of the Two Saint ruckman Paddy Ryder and Rowan Marshall

Did you watch the Lions/Pies game?
How did you think Grundy went?

Zero chance.

If 50% of our talls are fit at once it would be amazing.
