Good point.

arh…memories, those were the days
I too think that Raz will be a great pick-up for whoever gets him. I know his trading stocks are low currently, but there’s a big upside in him. He’s quick, skilled and can kick a goal - and he’s one of those rare players who can kick-start momentum.
I’d be pressing for a fair bit based on what he can do and then meet somewhere in the middle. Hopefully, Adelaide gets involved to push his price u
I know this phrase is a bit of a meme, but Raz clearly does have strong leadership qualities, which does add to his value at the trade table
He’s perfect for a team like Adelaide who are going through a rebuild, and now that Tex is likely done, will lack leaders through their forward line next year. They clearly need someone through there who can instruct on field and help with structures - something Raz clearly does well.
Raz and the club both certainly took the risk that this year he would get back to old form and boost his trade value, which sucks, because if he did, we are probably looking at receiving Port’s future first or possibly Adelaide’s pick 8 for him in a straight up trade
strong leadership qualities
Pretty hard to lead from the sidelines though, eh?
My point is that in trading for Raz, you’re not trading for a flog like Papley, or someone that’s been pushed out for off field issues, on top of his injury.
He’s clearly very liked by his team mates, who voted him into the leadership group again this year, despite nearly asking for a trade
Not sure what to think re. Raz. 2017 39 goals from 20 games and he was nearly my favourite player. Honestly believed he was going to absolutely elite. Disappointed he wants out but we knew that and not playing wasn’t going to change his mind.
Good point.

Leon Baker what a star. He was recruited as a mature age player who was a bit of a footballing nomad. Bob Davis kept hanging on Essendon saying he couldn’t play. Didn’t say much after that GF
If he nominated Port, surely pick 26 for Raz is a fairly straight-forward trade?
Will be pushed out to an early 30’s pick after NGA bids/compo picks but so be it - we’d just be hoping that Brand isn’t bid on before then.
Ideally, we’d rather a future second rounder but I think if they offer 26, we just get the deal done and move on with our lives.
EDIT: Even better if we can on-trade whatever pick they give us for Caldwell.
we’d just be hoping that Brand isn’t bid on before then.
Are folk actually assuming there is any way to know who to pick in this years draft with no data or form for the whole of 2020??
Wow.
It’s at best normally a best guess scenario, … this year it’s a complete crap shoot.
They likely won’t trade picks this year because they need them to match a bid on Lachlan Jones who could be bid top 10
Ahhh gotcha. Makes it tricky then but I guess the onus is on them to find something similar to offer up.
A lot of reasons why we wanted Crows to be the destination, Port don’t even have any realistic players to offer up.
How about Willem Drew as a trade option for Raz. Just turned 22. 188cm inside mid. 10 games last year as a 20yo but none this year. Does anyone rate him?
Good and a contested beast at junior level. He has all the tools and was used out of position in the reserves, but he can rack them up (think Cripps like but not as big).
Downside is he makes Gumbleton injuries woes pale in comparison.
When he arrived he went downhill with injuries (mainly foot injuries) which is concerning. When he took his chances, he was very very good. But then he broke down and missed the whole year.
Port rate him and gave him a year extension, but if he can’t get on the park, it’s goodbye.
A lot of reasons why we wanted Crows to be the detonation.
Well they have form with self destruction.
So the latest is that his management met with Port today and they are keen on him but only for the right price as they are not blessed with a stack of picks and wouldn’t look to offload any of next years picks. Port also want an indication from him that he is willing to leave before proceeding further. As of today Fantasia still hasn’t informed Essendon or his management that he wants out. Port are wary of what happened last trade period and want him to make a decision ASAP on his future.
Sounds like they want him for virtually nothing.
GET F*CKED Port
So Fanta finding it hard to leave Essendon? if he wanted out so badly he would have told the club already imo.
Hmmmm

I believe Brasher told us (Essendon) he wants out
Yes. BD he said this.
