Ex-#13 Orazio Fantasia - well… bye

Of course we are because that’s all he’s worth.

All this stuff about him not being injured and getting back to his best is pipe dreams.

Sure it’s possible but is it likely, absolutely not.

Take a third rounder and cut our losses.

Same as last year.

Everybody runs around based on him leaving and then he either backs out or says he was never going to leave.

IF and it’s a big IF he stays on the park he will be very good wherever he ends up.

I hope it doesn’t happen but I have a feeling he will end up with an AA at some stage

I guess the realisation is setting in of what could have been for us.
Sad to think this was some of the reports on his 2018 season

Fantasia’s importance to the side was evident, with the bombers winning 69% of games when he played compared to 33% when he was absent. He rated elite for inside 50’s and score involvements and above average for goals and score assists. The bombers scored 56% of the time when he was targeted, ranked second of the top 100 targets in the afl. Fantasia uses his zipping to his advantage, retaining possession 88% of the time he was kicked to on a lead - the equal fourth best rate of the top 40 targets across the competition.

Foot injury + spongey floors + contested beast + red hair = made for Essendon

I think port want raz to tell essendon that he IS going to port and we will have to get the deal done regardless.
ie port want him but have no way of getting him as they refuse to give up decent picks.
The idea that raz is bad for our culture is just silly. Lots of players and employees commit for 1 or 2 years at a time. That’s one reason contracts are limited term.

3 of our top 4 there gone or as good as. :frowning:

A few in the 2nd bracket out of being talked as on the way out also.

Sounds like he is better than many of our players already.

He’s on low money. His contract was heavily front ended.

On the other hand, we still have three of the five players rated average. and 100% of the players rated “Poor”.

Seems we have learned nothing from Ryder stitching us up over that.

Frustrating stuff but sometimes a necessary risk if you have more than 5% unused cap space.

Yeah my thoughts exactly. He hasn’t said he wants to go. If he’s not being offered a good contract or no decent trade offer - then he stays …he’s a contracted player

Hey Aceman, what position was he playing at this time? It says forward but was he still off the half back line

Those articles and ranking were done before the start of the 2019 season and reflect his 2018 season where he was a forward

If he remained, would you play him back there at half back flank?

This is not how it went last year.

His Manager was given a verbal offer by Port, and he started negotiations. i was told Fanta was not aware of it until the Media coverage. He sacked his Manager and stayed at EFC.

He never asked to be traded then and still has not this year; but he will.

At this point I’d just let him go for nothing. The past. Two off seasons with him have been a joke

Unless the post above is accurate, then last season was entirely his manager.

Well Mr Frost, that is how it was explained to me, but who really knows what goes on in the mind of AFL footballers.
