F1 202x - Maybe?

Well done Daniel!

Went to monza for a race a few years ago.. What an awesome weekend that was.

Vettel and Webber a long way ahead after first practice.

It was conducted in hot conditions and I doubt tomorrow will be any different.

Can Hamilton pull another rabbit out of the hat to get Pole ?

booooooo

Italian crowds

A comfortable victory to Vettel from Alonso, and Webber close behind. Webber actually started well from second on the grid, nearly got past Vettel before the first corner, but left a gap for Massa to get to second at the first corner. Vettel lead and had a lead of 6 to 10 seconds for most of the race.

Raikkonen and Hamilton started from 11th and 12th. Both had no luck from the beginning, Raikkonen had an accident on the first lap, had to pit for a damaged wing and did well to get 11th. Hamilton had a slow puncture on his right front, which forced him into an extra pit stop, and he did well to get 9th.

The surprise was Hulkenberg in the Sauber qualifying third, and then finishing 5th in the Grand Prix.

Why was that Webbers last race if the season isn't over?

Kimi to Ferrari - Official.

An interesting move.

I wonder if Kimi had the choice of Red Bull and Ferrari.

Kimi and Alonso is a formidable pair, will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Vettel

Alonso

Raikkonen.

Gotta say that Vettel's performance was about the best, I have seen in an F1 Car. let's break down the race - Vettel wins by 34 seconds - This after three tyre stops to Alonso and Raikkonen's two tyre stops. Vettel lead by about 10 second when the safety car come out in Lap 25 to 31. Of course he then lost his lead.  After the re-start he made 30 seconds In the space of  about 15 laps. Rejoined the race in front of Alonso by 3 or 4 seconds and still won by 32 seconds. After regaining the lead from Rosberg on lap 1, he managed to be 10 seconds after lap 4. Did the same after the race resumed after the safety car in lap 31. Vettel was lapping about 2 seconds faster than the next best car. A simply stunning drive !

Webber's day went from bad to worse. Started 4th on the grid. Was 5th after the first lap. Got it back to 4th on the third lap. Was fairly much 3rd or 4th until the safety car in the 25th lap. Most of the field changed tyres at this stage, except for the top 4 drivers. Then pitted in lap 41, when third, which dropped him back to 8th. Unfortunately, most of the guys who pitted during the safety card period didn't stop again - Mainly due to the safety car going for 6 laps which meant that some of these guys would try to hang on. Webber got it back to 4th with 5 laps to go. At this stage he was 4th,with an outside chance of taking 3rd. Was informed there was an issue with his car with four laps to go. Nursed his car until the final lap when he had fallen back to 6th. And bang halfway through the last lap his car caught fire.At the completion of the race Alonso stopped off to give Webber a lift back to the pits. The stewards looked dimly on this event and gave Webber a reprimand. As it was Webber's third reprimand of the season he now incurs a 10 spot grid penalty. Wow !

I don't believe the conspiracy theories. Webber not finishing, affects Red Bull in the Constructors Award, which is a prestigious award for the team. Go back over the last 4 years, and you will probably find that Vette, has had just as many mechanical failures as Webber.

MARK Webber is fuming over a grid penalty from Formula One stewards for hitching a ride back to pit lane on the side of Fernando Alonso's Ferrari at the end of the Singapore Grand Prix overnight.

Both drivers received reprimands over the incident, but it was Webber who was hit hardest given it was his third sanction of the season.

The Australian Red Bull pilot, just six races away from his F1 retirement, was cited for walking on to the circuit without permission and slapped with a 10-place grid penalty for next month's race in South Korea.

Webber had pulled off the track with his car in flames after an engine failure on the final lap.

Rather than having a slow post-race walk back to the pits, he dashed out on to the circuit, hailed Alonso's Ferrari like it was a taxi and then clambered on to the sidepod for a quicker ride back.

Alonso, reprimanded for his dangerous actions, had already finished the race in second, behind winner Sebastian Vettel.

Sebastian Vettel wins Singapore Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel has won his third straight Singapore Grand Prix to close in on his fourth World Championship.

Three cars on their slowdown laps - including Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes - had to take evasive action to avoid Webber and Alonso's slow Ferrari.

"There's not much I can say about that,'' Webber said.

"It's very frustrating, but the stewards have made their decision. It's now going to compromise my race in Korea, which is tough to take.''

But according to former driver and TV commentator Martin Brundle, Webber was filthy.

"Just spoke with @AussieGrit, you have no idea how ■■■■■■ off he is about a 10 place grid drop in Korea for catching a lift with Alonso,'' Brundle posted on Twitter.

Mark Webber is given a lift back to pits by Fernando Alonso of Ferrari after his engine blew up during the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix.

The penalty did not sit well with Red Bull boss Christian Horner either, who said the image of Alonso giving Webber a lift was "good TV'' and did not deserve such a harsh punishment.

"It should have been dealt with by a fine or a slap on the wrist,'' Horner told Autosport.

"Perhaps, in this instance, a talking to the drivers would have sufficed. Ideally a fine would have been better, but I don't believe that is something available to the stewards now.

"It is a shame and frustrating because that puts Mark now on the back foot now in Korea. It is what it is and we certainly can't change it.''

Hamilton, who said the image was reminiscent of Nigel Mansell giving Ayrton Senna a lift home at the 1991 British Grand Prix, admitted he was "really shocked'' by the incident.

Red Bull driver Mark Webber jumps off the side of Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso of Spain's car after hitching a ride into the pit lane at the end of the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix.

"I went to the right of him, but if Mark had been walking across where I went then I would have run him over. Fortunately, that wasn't the case,'' he said.

"It's good for the fans to see and, as long as it's done in a safe manner - you don't stop on the racing line - then maybe it should be allowed for the future.''

Vettel was in a class of his own under the Marina Bay lights, winning by a massive 32.6 seconds over Alonso and boosting his championship lead on the Ferrari driver from 53 points to 60 with six races remaining.

"We are in a very good position. To be honest I am not looking at the championship too much," Vettel said. "I am just enjoying it at the moment. Days like today and yesterday are what it is all about."

Lotus' Kimi Raikkonen was third, ahead of the Mercedes pair Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton in fourth and fifth respectively.

Mark Webber of Australia and Red Bull racing is seen following the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix at Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Starting in pole, Vettel lost the lead at the first corner to Rosberg but took it back as the Mercedes driver ran wide at turn two. Even a safety car period just before half distance, which eroded his 12sec lead, could not prevent another Vettel victory.

"The start was quite hairy, Nico had a good start, but fortunately he went a little too deep and I was able to get him back," Vettel said.

"With the safety car, it was difficult but we came back ... we had very, very good pace."

Red Bull teammate Webber had sharply different fortunes in the race. As the Australian was threatening Raikkonen in the closing stages, he experienced an engine failure that saw him pull off the track with his car in flames.

Alonso was in a generous mood after an impressive showing.

Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel of Germany drives during the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix.

The Spaniard got a superb start, going around the outside of several drivers to vault from seventh to third after two corners, and capitalized on the emergence of the safety car by pitting for his final stop, taking on a set of the harder tires which he drove for the last 36 of 61 laps.

"We knew we didn't have the pace today, we had to invent something," Alonso said. "I had a good start and a different strategy ... it tastes like a victory to us."

Raikkonen's participation in the race had been in doubt due to a back injury that affected him badly in Saturday's qualifying, but the Finn sliced his way through the field in the latter half of the race to move up from 10th to a podium finish.

"Luckily not too much (pain during the race) but now, afterwards, it's not 100 percent but I have time to rest and get it right," Raikkonen said. "Third place - we could not have expected any more today."

Ferrari's Felipe Massa was sixth, ahead of the McLaren pair Jenson Button and Sergio Perez in seventh and eighth respectively, with Sauber's Nico Hulkenberg and Force India's Adrian Sutil completing the top ten.

Sebastian Vettel celebrates his victory in the Singapore Grand Prix, a win which extended his lead in the drivers' championship.

Vettel's victory was his third in a row in Singapore, his seventh of the season, and 33rd of his career, moving him out of a tie with Alonso and into outright fourth place on the all-time list behind Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna.

Vettel also won from pole in the previous F1 race in Italy and took the lead on the opening lap of the Belgian GP, meaning he has now led effectively from start to finish in three successive races.

With such dominance over his dispirited rivals, only an extraordinary turnaround can prevent Vettel winning a fourth-straight championship, joining Schumacher and Juan Manuel Fangio as the only men to achieve that feat.

Ferrari had said prior to the race that the result in Singapore would determine whether to continue development of the car or to turn all resources to the radically redesigned 2014 vehicle. Alonso's second placing will likely be enough to keep Ferrari's mind on this year, but the Spaniard was realistic about his fading title hopes.

"The gap is still increasing every weekend and now it's 60 points," Alonso said. "We need to be honest with ourselves. We need a lot of luck every weekend if we are one second (per lap) off their pace."

This is right. Webber has had more silly things go wrong like running out of fuel during practice, car being underweight, or tardy pit stops which has cost him grid positions or race positions. But for outright mechanical failures it would be similar between Vettel and Webber.

Watched “Senna” again last night. Been quite a while since I’d seen it. A very good doco in its own right. I always loved him as a driver, thought he was an arrogant tool as a bloke. But I now think the world lost a pretty decent fella that day at Imola. Certainly the underprivileged in Brazil lost a man who would fight for them.

Senna was an all-round awesome driver, but found another gear in wet conditions.
