about 11 laps for ricciardo to drop some good laps to catch up.

The swings and rounabouts of F1 racing. RBR were a long way off the pace after free practice 1 and 2 on Friday.

Big improvement on Saturday which carried through to the race. Heard Hamilton’s engine pop just as he passed our.vantage spot.Hamilton was 23 seconds up at that.time but needed to pit for new tyres. I expect he would have come out on front but may have struggled to hold off Verstappen.

Once Hamilton’s engine popped it was a new ball which also allowed Ricciardo to pit during the virtual.safety car,and then the pragmatic decision was to keep Ricciardo and Verstappen as one or.two. Have no doubt Verstappen was quicker today.but.the fastest.driver.doesn’t always win like Ricciardo in Barcelona.
