Was kinda cute how the commentators were talking up that Lando might catch him by the end “oh he’s gained 0.1, 0.2 there” then in one lap piastri says nope “ and Piastri has pulled away again”.

Remember when that backmarker/lemon team (Alpine?) tried to announce him as their new driver on twitter to force contract shenanigans? Then Pastry had to LOLNO them in reply?
Huge moment looking back. Mclaren were a mid team at the time (better than the lemon) and now it’s a rocketship.

Loved it too. Even Brown was being interviewed and he’s just said piastri was managing. Of course he was, why burn your tyres out when you’re 8 seconds up.

I don’t think Norris is ■■■■.
If it’s a final lap and you want a driver to pull off an ambitious overtake to win, you’d go Norris over Piastri.
If you are in the best car and want someone who takes calculated risks without being reckless, you’d go Piastri over Norris.
I think if there is any equalising in performance relative to the grid across the season, Norris will begin out performing Piastri again because he’s willing to push things a bit harder.
Norris starting to look like Ricciardo did after Verstappen joined RBR in 2018.
We all know how that ended.

That passing move by Piastri was nice. It looked like Verstappen overcooked it trying to defend, which meant he lost the racing line for the next corner.
