Norris and Piastri take 1,2 in the sprint after another poor antonelli start. Qualifying not so great 4th for norris and 7th for piastri, norris saying something about setup for the car was not right
A big FU to McLaren’s PU

Race brought forward 3 hours to avoid storms.
3am is a crap time.
I think I’ll just watch the replay and skip the boring bits (from lap 2-52)
Hopefully some good racing to be had.
It seems like the rain will arrive at the new start time. It could be a limited race.
- Antonelli
- Norris
- Piastri
Will watch the highlights / mini tonight after work.
McLaren got done by the undercut. Great drive by Max without spoilers. Awesome hard yards for a podium for Ossie Piastri. Could have been even higher
Slow pitstop for Oscar, good hustle to get third
First 7-8 laps are probably worth watching without skipping.
A pretty enjoyable race all round.
And the pit stop was 3.4 seconds. Do an average pit stop and Norris comes out in front of Antonelli. Reckon they pitted piastri 3 or 4 laps too late.
Antonelli flogging Russell was not on my bingo card at the start of the year but I’m all for it
I think after race 1 or 2 George might have been thinking this is my year, Antonelli said hold my beer. Very early in the season but if their car holds up Antonelli may get it done. Or will Mercedes do a MacLaren and let Georgie Pordgie sweep past Antonelli as Norris did to Piastri?
George looks like he’s in a mid pack car. It’s great to watch after he was thinking he just needed to turn up and the world championship was going to be his.
I don’t think Toto has the same love for George that Zac does for Lando.
Plus - a 19 year old champion? No way Mercedes give up on that piece of F1 history.
Did anyone else see Mohammad Ben pouring water over Kim Antonelli before he went up to do his interview with Brundle after the race? Very odd behaviour for the head of the FIA?
Seems a weird unit. I think he’s the guy that pulled Lando’s hair in the racers recovery room.
Was interesting seeing the replay with Leclerc letting Liastri pass, in order to get the power boost on the final lap. It’s stupid that this would be a strategy to consider, but given the rules, you could see what he was thinking of doing.
and an Italian as well - have to go back to Alberto Ascari (1952 and 1953) to find the last Italian world champion*
*wiki tells us, Mario Andretti - the 1978 drivers’ champion, was born in Italy, but is an American citizen and represented the United States in Formula One
