Updated top post. Updates have been few and far between this year cos honestly there’s not a lot happening. Mason Fletcher has been out of TAC for a few weeks but returns this weekend, not sure if it was injuries or school footy. Kurtis Barnard player his first game for the year last week, while Jydon Neagle is having an absolute party in the O&M league this year, with 23 goals from 6 games including bags of 10 and 8 in the past three weeks.
Dustin said something on Bomber radio about Mason. I think he said that he’s been concerntrating on school footy, then will get back to Calder. Don’t quote me on it, but there was a reason why he has missed the last few weeks with Calder.
Dustin did talk about the importance of school football, and playing with your mates before things start getting serious.
Sounds like Dustin, on last weeks Friday Footy Panel Fletch recounted the story about how he played school footy in 1993. I hadn’t realised that Sheedy had dropped Fletch to the reserves for a couple of games for going against club wishes.
Probably his only reserves games ever, except maybe round 1 that year.
Mason Fletcher played TAC Cup round 9 on the weekend v Northern Knights. From the AFL Draft Central scouting notes (Billy Friend June 4, 2017), " Mason Fletcher - Was commanding in defence and held the Northern key forwards at bay. Took some strong intercept marks and made critical spoils. Disposed of the ball well coming out of defensive 50".
