Yep agree. I think the frustration with Weids is better directed at the club and coaching panel. I wasn’t a fan but what frustrated me was that seven week goalless stretch in 2023. Have a go at the selection panel for keeping him in the senior side. It was obvious that shook his confidence and he never returned to that level of player again.

Again the frustration with fans post season was that he wasn’t delisted straight away. Not Weid’s fault.

He tried his best but his best wasn’t good enough in the end. He played senior games for our club. We should all respect that. Wish him all the best in the future.

players are what they are and who they are. a lot of people on here confuse being annoyed with the decisions surrounding a player with hating the player ( obviously some do that).

the guy prolly knew from last year when he was dropped that he ain’t getting another afl contract, but from what we can gather he still turned up, did his job, tried to help out the youngsters in the vfl.

He tried, he wasn’t good enough, move on. like you mention the oh he wasn’ted delisted 2 minutes after the final siren crew, like what does it actually achieve ?

Turning Wright from a vfl player into a B&F gave the club the overconfidence to think they could turn Wied around in a similar fashion. Both were top picks and had failed to reach their projected talent once drafted.

Clearly a flawed pick, one that I didn’t support, but also not a huge investment. I don’t see a huge opportunity cost from this one, using the list spot in other ways probably wouldn’t have done much.
