I think it’s pretty clear that our list suffers from a deplorable lack of depth. I would not blame Rosa if his strategy was to turn over as much of the list as he can and replace them with high picks before Tassie comes in. You want the sugar hit I get it but I’d rather try and build a conveyer belt of talent that you can then use to trade out to keep regenerating the team. Winning finals is crap. Aim for top 4; that’s statistically the way to win a flag.

I don’t want sugar a hit want us to build the list gradually by making smart decisions not just go whack and chop the the whole list that every one seems to want
We already removed 20 players in the last two seasons and will most like remove more this year
Sam Draper is literally one player! The choice to let him join Adelaide to net us band 1 compensation would leave us with 3 potentially top 10 picks plus 2 second round picks. The only thing I’m scratching my head over is whether we use some of these to go hard for Harley Reid or just take them to the draft!

Daper is not going anywhere has no interest in going back to Adelaide he will most likely stay on less money then what Crows will offer

Things can change but he seemed very genuine couldn’t stop expressing how much loves the club and living in Melbourne
It’s Drapes last chance to cash in on a big contract and set himself up for life, throw in other factors like returning to family/friends and chance of a premiership and the decision becomes clearer.
Personally I think trading Draper would be just about the worst case of shooting ourselves in the foot in all the long and dishonourable history of foot-shooting that we’ve had over the last decade or two.
So we can be pretty sure it will happen.
