Clickbait warning. Sam McLurid says his mail (un corroborated) is that Drapes is off to Adelaide.
Well considering his injury, he will likely not play again until after the midseason bye 2026, he may never play as well again if at all.
So what club in their right mind would pay overs for him?
Ralph not saying that he’s off to Adelaide but he did say that Draper wasn’t happy with our contract offer.

I would have thought Draper would be one of the two Essendon players to be chosen for the new marketing fund. It would be a good compromise.
Given Essendon over pays and offers long contracts to its players for fun, if Draper is dissatisfied with a contract offer from Essendon hes either way overating his worth or we’re hoping he leaves.

His timing sucks. He signed a huge, long-term deal originally because St Kilda offered him big bikkies but inflation eroded it’s value pretty quickly and then he did his Achilles just as he was going to hit pay dirt.
It works in our favour
A part of me wants to see him up and going in that Adelaide side, exciting side.
