They have upped the offer twice and is it still less than Brisbane? If it’s still less then they aren’t that keen to keep him after all?
it’s one thing to say verbally you want the player to stay but the actions don’t say that. In fact they say the opposite.

so you’re essentially implying that rosa should be just like dodo ??
cos um if the list management needs to be assertive about taking control of contract extensions, how is that any different to dodo tieing the noose around our necks with long term deals to redman, parish, mckay etc ?
at the end of the day, the coach should have final say, as it’s him who has to use these pieces to execute his vision and gameplan.
If he says i don’t mind keeping player x, but if it’s beyond a monetary value, then no i would prefer to chase a actual dedicated and legitimate full time ruckman, then that’s what rosa should be doing.
the list manager should not be going above and beyond a coach, we already had that, and that absolute flog of a human was one of the biggest continued reasons why the club kept going downhill.

It’s not so much about going above and beyond the coach that’s the problem. It’s when you let your ego get in the way of doing what’s best for the football club. Rosa has little to no emotional attachment to this group of players. The problem was that Dodoro was there for so long, everything had his name on it, therefore any decision to rebuild would be an admittance that he ■■■■■■ up the list build. Which he 100% has.
The other extreme is where the coach overrules the recruiter. Sheedy did that in 1996 and it led to the departure of Noel Judkins. Which then led to Dodoro taking over. Which eventually led to the shitshow we see today.
