Former #21 Dyson Heppell - dePorted

Tl;dr?

I skipped through a bit

basketball background

gratitude practice, breath practice, leadership

beautiful Evans family

saga discussion from 22m - vitamins, minerals, amino acids, no one thought they were doing anything wrong, no positive tests, he’s recall of the chronology is a little fuzzy - says we were 2nd and beat hawthorn and then it all blew up

etc

Fussy = flaky?

The AFL told our players the PREDETERMINED result (no finals) before the Hawks game. Finnis was told to ■■■■ OFF AND DON’T COME BACK, but after that last bit of defiance we went from second-playing-for-first after 17 games to five big losses.

We still made finals by three games and percentage. The sole exception to our slump was embarrassing Fark “East German blue powder; we don’t ask questions” Carlton… who were then helicoptered into finals.

Going to be on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here?

(recording from now-ish for airing January)

Actually, I recall before the Hawks game was when David Evans had his breakdown - I recall it because an extended family member was at the pre-game dinner before the game and said Evans’ hands were literally shaking as he was speaking. He didn’t look right at all.

It was the week leading into the Collingwood (the next week I think) that the AFL sent in a lackey (Finnis?) to the club where he told the players they wouldn’t be playing finals.

That whole finnis telling the players thing, is this actually legit. I have never seen an Essendon player actually confirm this

I’m sure it was confirmed in an article by Chip or Warner.

Heppell is good people.

Leadership isn’t necessarily being the best player.

Though prior to saga, he was an excellent player.

Good for him, but it still makes me throw up a little.

He’ll be back with us at some stage.. good to get the experience at another club first

If we’d hired him the reaction here would be so painful. I’m glad it is somewhere else.

Ahh geez, he’s going to see what a successful club looks like and never want another bar of Essendon.

Good luck to him, though. Collingwood have nabbed themselves an excellent human.

Good. The more Essendon people learning from stronger clubs the better.

Agreed, but the thought of him kitted out in Collingwood gear makes me shudder.
