Former #25 Jake Stringer (Part 2)

Not sure I would call pick 25 and pick 30 Peanuts. It’s weird, I see this said all the time. It’s like people thought it was a Wright like trade where we got him for a 4th rounder

Anyway, great game today Jake

he kicked 5 goals (again) for pick 25 and 30

Almost like he was underdone when he came back.

he’s the best player in the game when fit. we spent picks in the top 10 on Perkins, Cox and Reid

A quiet reminder about his 7 tackles today.
Not bad for a lazy bastard.

Jake’s always going to be one of those “what if” players. He’ll probably end up on 400 odd goals and people will look back and think he had a great career - but it mightve been so much better.

Well he got pretty bloody close!

I reckon his absolute best is right up there, actually. He can do nearly everything on a footy field.
It’s not just “when fit” though.
He’s so bloody inconsistent.

7 tackles today as well as 4 goals, and a similar number of 6 tackles last week (but didn’t have the impact with the ball).
But probably 6 games he’s been on the park this year have been pretty much anonymous.

And Peter Wright has had multiple bags of 5 and he was a fourth rounder. What’s your point?

I guess we will never know.

Where does this myth that picks in the 20’s are “peanuts” or throw away picks come from? See it mentioned on Blitz a lot.

Been some very good players picked in the 20’s, including our likely captain next year.

Stringer is very good. it is all relative.

peanuts for Stringer, not peanuts full stop.

and no, i don’t want these players instead of Stringer.

Enigmatic is as enigmatic does.
