Former #26 Kaine Baldwin

I have no idea. When I have said that he is too short and not athletic enough to be a KPD, I’ve been told that he’s not a KPD.

He is a key defender

Well then we know why Reid got chosen ahead of him despite his limited form.

He’s back, play him Friday vs the Saints!!!

I reckom mid season with a navicular fracture

Because Reids more talented

Have we ever had a player with a navicular that has returned in less than 12 months ?

Pretty sure all our players have a navacular! Might explain all the bad luck we have had as a club with injuries!

So frustrating for Kaine that he’s injured. Would’ve loved to have seen him in defence.

agree…

or even up forward.

Interesting to see the long term projection of Baldwin and the other key backs he is competing with.

Rids
McKay
Reid
Baldwin
Laverde
Hayes

A great deal of depth in the position.

Probably happy to skip on any KPD’s over the next 12 month draft / trade cycle.

Well BBB is back. Well nearly back according to the latest injury news. Thought these type of injuries took longer than 4 months but hey, who’s complaining.

Imagine a few games in the VFL for this Bomber and ready to go if an injury or something hits our back 7. And he can fill in up forward in a break glass situation…

He just must be wrapt to be in contention given his injury history. May the luck of the Irsh enfold you Kane Baldwin big boy.

He should be eyeing off Laverdes spot if he is a chance to remain on the list

Given we may have a surplus of key backs in the near future maybe one or two might be tried forward. Hard to be less effective than jones or Wright against good opposition

We don’t really have a surplus of key backs. We have the myth that is Zach Reid and then Lewis Hayes.

We’re also playing Laverde every week in the best 22 which shouldn’t be the case if we’re going to be a good side.

We probably have a surplus if we count Weid, seeing as he’s playing in defence. But surely he’ll be off the list at season’s end and surely we’ll replace him with a tall forward to get back to an even balance.
I hope Baldwin gets another year because I’m convinced he’s got it in him to take Laverde’s spot and be an upgrade but it’s probably unlikely now to happen by the end of this season.

just hope Baldwin can get back and have good run at it. Ideally he takes Laverdes spot.

3 games and he will be challenging for a spot, the only thing that will hold him back is Scott’s love of Laverde and not wanting to change.
