Former #26 Kaine Baldwin

Why you tryna derail the Baldwin train by bringing up a bloke with a head like a farken Gherkin.

this time it’s true

Draper kicks high and forward of himself

So you’re saying Tim Paine should have gone for a gym session instead?

G train was a bit of an anomaly.
195cm, 105kg (give or take) and still fast as ā– ā– ā– ā– .

Sav Rocca was brutally strong as well. Was at the AIS as a teenager for either shot put or discus and someone I know from powerlifting saw him deadlift 270 odd at 17.

I think time has been kind to the Sav Rocca story, last I heard it was 240. Still very impressive for a 17 year old.

I’d have to go search through the old AusBB forums to find out what was actually posted.
I might be pushing it out cos I remember it being comfortably more than I was deadlifting at the time it was posted, but I’ve added about 40kg to mine in the decade since haha.

Yeah look either way it is probably more than 2.5 times his body weight at the time, good lift.

Hooker and Ambrose were both the kings of the weight room and I think Hooker used to bench more than 150kg, but it seems that Baldwin (and probably Draper) may have taken the reigns in that department.

Who cares? At one point Kane Ackland had the biggest bench press, should tell you how relevant it is.

I got chased down by sav rocca one day I’m still peeling my face out of the turf.

Well yeh, it tells us that bench press ability, in isolation of literally hundreds of performance metrics, is not a reliable indicator of football ability. Which is not at all what you are insinuating.

Dalgleish was as quick as we have seen on a footy field, and he didn’t do much. Does that mean speed isn’t relevant? Absolutely not.

Playing u/15 against Sav Rocca, I pulled out off a contest with him. Just happy I’m still alive to tell the story. He was huge but really a gentle giant on field.

Not quite relevant but you’ve reminded me of
Dalgliesh’s from 40 out to 40 out run and goal.

I should run to youtube and watch it again. Such a highlight.

I used to do 4 reps of 133kg back in the day. I only weighed 81kg at the time.

Mic drop!

I lift 100kgs as a middle aged bloke with a fair bit of extra mass to help.

This bloke is doing 122.5 as a 19yo who looked like he wasn’t doing much training over the last few years.

Monster.

I don’t know how heavy the groceries are, but…pretty darn heavy is what I’m saying.
