B: Stewart . Laverde . Kelly
HB: Hind . Ridley . Heppell
7th defender: Redman
Eventually Reid replaces Stewart.
Never heard of the guy but his AFL stats says over his career he is an elite user by foot and this seasons he is an above average contested possession playerā¦
Nice pickup by the clubā¦
Iāve always seen him as neat by foot. Plays within his boundaries, not the guy whoās going to bite off the tough kick but usually looks after the ball.
I posted this in the other thread but by that time this thread was createdā¦
This comes with the disclaimer that I donāt really know what Iām doing but I got Jake Kellyās 2021 stats from the fitzRoy package using the Fryzigg data and compared it to other players listed in the same positions as Kelly had been listed (ignoring those listed as interchange). Itās not an exact comparison as thereās different roles within positions but at least helps to see his strengths.
I also got rid of any rows where the player played under 35% game time so not as to skew things due to injury.
Canāt help but wonder where Francis sits now at the club with this signing.
Iām pretty sure this is the guy I watched through his first year.
Very awkward kicking action. Sort of like Clarke.
I havenāt noticed much of him since then though.
Legit never heard of this bloke.
Cool - lockdown defender, tick.
Now we just need a crumbing forward and a BBM and we wonāt even need to go to the draftā¦
At the Crows game earlier this year, I was close to the fence and sat near a bloke who absolutely sledged Kelly all night. I mean, relentlessly!.. Got a smile from him too for some of his wittier barbsā¦
Given the Crows fans Iāve known over the journey, I am getting on for the Brownlow!
Agree.
Hopefully they donāt go to Hawkins, Riewoldt & Cameron.
Ridley played on the oppositions best small forward regularly this year. This frees up Ridley.
Excellent move. Improves us.
Forward I reckon
Not familiar with this guy.
If he is able to play on small forwards then this great.
If heās another 3rd tall interceptor type then Iām confused because that role should be played by Francis.
I know we have to support him as soon as he dons the sash, but would not be getting too excited.
Adelaide supporters very happy to see the back of him, has terrible disposal and decision making and was destroyed a few times this year. Anyway best of luck to him
I think Francis will have a pre-season as a key forward and see if he can develop further in that role. With Ambrose and Hooker gone and Hurls is an unknown we do need a mature body fwd who can compete.
Will fight for that 3rd tall fwd spot with Waterman, Baldwin and a fit Hurley
