It’s a not a question of being friendlier… it’s a matter of courtesy and respect. I can imagine many of the other clubs socials (GWS in particular) doing it, and do see plenty of them acknowledging achievements of past players. It wouldn’t really take too much, would it?
Is it a primary shortcoming of the club? Hell no… there are about a thousand more pressing examples of Essendon’s uselessness. It’s indicative of Essendon as a whole really - insular and totally behind the 8-ball with the current practices within the industry.

Yeah it’s easy enough to get right. You just have a policy in place to have our current socials team be up to date and put this stuff out there. It even creates content for free which they can use on the website. Seems really easy

Lol. I mean sure, I doubt anyone is happy with being delisted but if he had any semblance of self awareness he couldn’t possibly feel hard done by. In fact he should be thankful he got gifted another 12 months in the system after producing one of the worst seasons on record by an AFL player that saw him as the lowest ranked player in the competition. He’ll do ok at state level though so good luck to him.
