Easy to see why he’s still only running laps- he’s carrying a decent gut
I heard someone ask him at training today if he is ok.
He said he is good thanks and will be joining in after the Christmas break
Thats great news. must be on hold until the new year.
He’s always been ‘big bodied’ when I’ve seen him. Especially compared to Junior.
I’ll wait until I see him how evident this ‘decent guy’ is.
He must be on the patented Irving Mosquito “post-ACL bulk” diet. Nothing to worry about, all part of the plan…
Tank is obviously an issue (and rightly so given how much footy he has missed), but he did some very exciting things in his VFL debut yesterday.
Looks to be the only legitimate x-factor & pressure small forward on the list. He’s quick, clean at ground level and has very nice skills by hand and foot. Had about 8-10 possessions (due in part to our lack of attacking drive and part to his heavy rotations) but can’t remember him making a mistake or not progressing the play. Very willing to harass without the ball too.
If his knees hold up and he gets to a point where he can run out AFL games, he will be a player. He’s that classic small forward that when you see the right glimpses at reserve level, you just know they’ll be able to play at the top level.
music to my ears
The more talented one.
JD needs games in VFL to build his pace and confidence. By mid year we could look at him as a valuable small forward.
The clip of his goal on social media today brings back memories of his old man.
The way he outdid his opponent, the breakaway speed, the running gait.
Wouldn’t mind seeing him in the sub role
After watching him today at Sandy, yep he looks and plays like his dad.
I hope not.
I only want older players in the sub or travelling emergency roles.
We need kids to play full games as often as possible.
Looked better than alwyn, but these twins don’t like contact at all. In the vfl today i saw them shirk a heap of contests. Hopefully they grow out of it, as i had high hopes for both as a combination.
meh, you would take the chance to be sub.
you still get to play now and like Hind, he will add pace to the game.
agree not the best way to debut, but if knock on him is his tank and gives him chance to play at level earlier you probably take it.
Merrett played as sub quite a bit in his debut year and it didn’t hurt his development.
Merrett made his debut in the opening round of the 2014 AFL season against North Melbourne . He was named as the substitute and came on late in the game, replacing Martin Gleeson
Unlike their dad who’s head barely went above the oppositions waiste. Froggy would intentionally try to get his head ripped off…and it wasn’t hard to achieve
Would he produce more than Menzie?
Anyone would produce more than Menzie.
