Former #39 Patrick Voss - false messiah

Caddy and May no need for Voss

But there was a need for Edwards?

If May has a good year in 2026 Edwards will be gone

I’m far from his biggest fan (see assessment above), but more than happy to agree we should have called it with Weid far earlier, and given Voss a couple of games for the hell of it.

Unless his off-field stuff was obviously bad, and it would have had cultural/optics impacts.

Voss 2 marks
Prior 6!

(Ha, Jaxon is 7th for average marks this season from the 42 who played last night. But regardless of their positions played, Prior was better-than-his-average last night, and Voss was worse-than-his-average.)

Voss is pure feral . Quicker he’s ignored and disappears from Blitz the better. The way he roughed up Martin on the outer side boundary late on angered me. Just wished another Bomber flew in and wrenched him off by his extravagant neck and smacked him into the fence at pace.

There …feel calmer now.

We don’t want feral and aggro at good old conservative fc. We want more good boys like Andy McGrath.

Good. Imagine hypothetically we’d got Josh Treacy over at the Dons after he felt he didn’t get the opportunity he deserved at Freo and first game in Dons colours against his old team he was launching into contests against Caleb Serong and Andrew Brayshaw and roughing them up. We’d fkg love it. It was good theatre.

Bit of aggro is OK … but it wasn’t his teammates that prevented him getting picked for us. And Martin’s hardly an agitator. Pick on his own size itd be bit different. Like a Lav who wouldn’t have put up with it

Social club bar suffered serious profit drop when he left.

he tried with lav, however he just got laughed at and didnt seem to be able to push him around, was very tough against the small players though

Lav the enforcer

Stringer would have decked Voss into the fence

God help us if his output ever matches people’s investment in this thread.

He definitely deserved a go. And Weed definitely had more than was warranted.

But even if we did, we’d still be moaning about how crap Voss is because d1ckhead would be playing him on the wing.

That is what you say when a player his unable to get the ball.

it’s a forum for discussion

It doesn’t need to be obviously bad for the club. If he got some cheap games for Essendon he may not have had the drive to work harder and improve his game.

The Weid thing - there was no point in trading for him if we didn’t give him an extended shot in the seniors. I reckon the club was trying to see if treating his form slump / loss of confidence differently to what the Dees did would get him through the other side and turn him into a more consistent footballer. It didn’t work out.
