Former #4 Jobe Watson

yup watson is self indulgent

but derm on ‘derms diaries’ where he basically talks about how great a player he was/ how many girls he rooted when he was relevant, isnt. lets get that clear.

Dave Fwit Colbert on SEN said Keefe and Thomas were unlucky because the recreational drug they took had something banned in it that they didn't know about but Watson's return shouldn't be celebrated 'cause he knew what he took..What a F.....n Flg

He’s a farking flog Colbert.

He’ll still be screaming this stuff out as they drag him away in a straight jacket one day. Another KB flog in a list of many
Seems to be a complete difference between the way the Melbourne media handle this stuff, to how the NRL media in general handle this sort of stuff. They seem to have well and truly moved on.

They do seem to have moved on don’t they, and Cronulla have moved to their first Grand Final in nearly 20 years. Good on them.

Cronulla are basically worshipped at the moment. It doesn’t rate a mention up here.

Edit: and the same coach is in charge…

How the ■■■■ does that work?

Yeah that’s interesting isn’t it?
The two clubs paths have been quite divergent. They pleaded guilty and accepted bans pretty early didn’t they?

Even today in all the news reports on Cronulla not even a single, “after their drugs saga” while the anally retentive Melbourne establishment is still demanding Jobe’s Brownlow is still an issue that needs to be dealt with

You mean ‘5 day 5 night dermie’ - get it right.

I am starting to hope that we do get an all Sydney final now just to stick it up these Melbourne media people who think they are entitled to, and own the game.
But, go doggies anyway

That is an astonishing surprise that a member of the media who has called for us to be dismembered for the past four years still would say such a thing I am surprised beyond measures.

I think its also because people in AFL world seem to think our competition is “pure” sport. Its a delusion.

I think it has roots in Melbourne elite superiority complex. And I say that as a born and bred Melbourne person, living in self imposed exile

The age believes itself to be the embodiment of the Melbourne Elite moral compass. The problem is any commercial enterprise in its death throes starts to focus on ways to survive. Now Holden and all his sports journos probably should retrain as garbage collectors I stead of writing it.

Self indulgent? Where is that coming from?

Even today in all the news reports on Cronulla not even a single, "after their drugs saga" while the anally retentive Melbourne establishment is still demanding Jobe's Brownlow is still an issue that needs to be dealt with

Yep. Patrick Smith calling for games goals and possessions of all players to be taken away. But he says jobe should come back and play. Patrick is smart enough to realise he cannot stop the players from coming back, but he can milk some out of the saga sitting on his high moral ground. What a prick he is.

I don’t hear a single word about it here in qld

I didn’t know Dubbo was in Queensland

Holden has already gone, maybe setting up a job pathways plan for gabarge collecters as each journo leaves or is made redundant.

(hopefully Emma and Rohan will avoid that path)

Colbert obviously doesn’t understand what happened, but that doesn’t stop him making ignorant pronouncements on the topic.

These players, and support staff, must be extremely frustrated at all this. They will have to put up with ignorant comments like this forever.

Forever.

We need a Senate Inquiry.

Doesn’t he work for that corrupt and racist organisation Athletics Australia?

Yep, he’s got the moral high ground.

Finally something I can comment on. Cronulla Drugs Saga an absolute non event up here. The world has moved on.Most people are pleased that they are in the finals. Perhaps AFL might like to compare and contrast how both SAGA’s were handled.

They chose to continue their careers rather than fight the inevitable. Their saga ended two years ago. Ours still hasn't ended.

Give it another two years and there will be no rubbish saga stories left to dredge up.

The one thing Colbert does well is he doesn’t back down.
In an interview with X Campbell, he was just as ignorant with stupid comments.
I’m surprised Campbell didn’t just tell him to get farked.

Not really.

The AFL at some point decided on the outcome they wanted and then used the media to facilitate that outcome, as they always do.

It’s no secret how they operate.

Helps that they control the Melbourne media in its entirety too.

Therein lies the difference.
