And the other two fifths they save for match day
Fixed
I get the feeling, that 2024 will be make or break season for tex, he in contracted until end of 2024, and no mention of a extension, which means if he doesnāt manage to make the seniors in 2024, he will be delisted.
Heās not had a helluva lot of luck has Tex. But Iāve been on the Tex train ever since he arrived. Footy smarts, darts around the pack and finding space more, loves to kick goals and I reckon heās as willing as most to stick a tackle and harass backmen. He was just finding form and confidence and now this injury ⦠hope its not too bad and he gets a properly strong pre season in for next year.
Once he tops up that tank and adds real strength to his soon to be 20yo frame heāll be right in contention for a hff or an alternative to Menzie. Tex, ADJ and Munkara are doing very nicely thanks, all under the unique tutoring of our Tippa. Come 2024 post bye these guys will all be very hard to ignore and contending for games.
Patience is the key for these truly talented indigenous young Bombers. But Tex for mine will be the first to truly break down the Selectorsā door I reckon. And ADJ wonāt be far behind.
Exciting story in the making. So keep a beady eye on the No.40 guernsey Brad. Heāll be a good 'un.
Disagree. Tex is on his first contract, and he will be given another.
If he does next to nothing/average form next year, whatever you want to call it, there is absolutely no chance in hell he will get another contract
Heād have to cement himself in the 22 somehow imo.
Yep heād definitely need to get into the ones and show something reasonable to get another contract
Tex has meaningfully impacted maybe 3-4 games at VFL level this year. Heās a long way from being a contributor at AFL level. Ned Cahill has kicked 24 from 15 games compared to Texās 18 from 16.
Needs a BIG preseason or heāll be cannon fodder.
He is still a kid at 19. Let him have a few years to develop.
by the end of next season he will have had three
He wonāt do next to nothing next season WOB. Heās got the skills, and his old man will be right in his ear helping and advising. He looks like he truly wants to break through.
Time will tell though.
I think it will be touch and go as to whether we keep Tex.
He has a contract for 24. so really depends how he goes next year. I think he makes it, but depends on competition. Hope he passes Guelfi and Snelling next presesason
Tex has AFL small forward skills that are difficult to find.
He also has no tank and foot problems.
Even in VFL heās a boy playing against mostly men.
If rehab & fitness team believe he will 100% recover and then withstand AFL level training, heāll be given 2-3 years to get an AFL tank and physique which provides the opportunity for his potential to be realised.
Given his cameos in AFL practice and vfl games he isnāt at all close to being considered for delisting.
Heās contracted for next year anyway.
We would be crazy to get rid of him at this stage
Sure, I reckon both adelaide teams would grab him if he was delisted, particulary Port.
with youngster Tex Wanganeen undergoing an operation on a navicular injury in his foot in the latter stages of the campaign. It is the same navicular he has previously injured and will see him spend an extended period on the sidelines over the summer and pre-season.
For a guy who has an ordinary baseline fitness to begin with this could well be the death knell for him heading into the final year of his contract where he needs to show plenty to survive.
