Umm, I’d prioritise getting him another game in the VFL. He is on a six month contact, doesn’t have time to waste going on a field trip.
Still plenty of benefits to travel with the team and do captains run in WA. If Draper is sore, might be handy Emergency as can ruck.
Potentially allows massimo, Cox, Reid to play full VFL games and VOSS to be the main forward at VFL.
Really, patience with Weidemans failure to score can only last so long. If Hunter continues taking grabs and bags of 4+ in the VFL ( particularly against quality sides/opponents ), subject to learning what Weidemans role is as 2nd string to 2MP its a case of BHI, probably after the Port game. Lets see how they both go this weekend.
Edit: Even if Langford steps up to be 2nd Key Forward leaving Hunter to be the 3rd tall, it would be a great way to introduce Hunter to the AFL, potentially giving us a very strong triple threat.

Weideman has consistently had 2 or more shots on goal every week, apart from North Melbourne (in last 2 months) Think Scott would be resonably happy, just hoping he sticks more marks and kicks accurately. Given Wrights comments after blues game, Weideman working well off ball for Wright can’t see Weid missing in the short term myself.
Also coaches don’t really rate bags of 4 in the VFL, just ask VOSS, who put together a good month of footy and didnt get a look in. when we didnt have Weideman (concussion) or Wright available.
Plus VFL listed players have kicked 5 like Jorgneson.
I didn’t see these - where were they aired?
I agree. It matters little how much support a forward gives to others, if they then consistently fail to kick goals themselves. Goal assists will get you so far, but you would need to be involved in a lot of them, if you aren’t scoring yourself. Weed is also not providing us with much of a presence in the air. However he managed to drag defenders away from 2MP which allowed him to mark without 2 or 3 defenders hanging off him all day.
It was in the post game interview. Read between the lines. They had been working on cooperation over the preseason, then put that into practice in that game. Basically its Weed drawing other defenders / blocking them to allow 2MP to get a clean grab and I think they might also be mates. ( similar serious, quiet sort of guys)

This. He was living in WA until recently, and probably could have gone back over the bye. Why on earth would he give up one of his handful of opportunities to impress to do hours of travelling to sit out the game?
We already knew that.
Some of us had shown the foresight to shield ourselves from his useless, excessively frequent, opinions.
Initially misunderestimated this post, and thought we were playing Freo in Wagga.
Lol, you gotta be ■■■■■■■■ me!
Oh no way. Get f’d
I’ve had it with our spongey floors
He didnt train today and just watched on with jacket on. Very disappointing
Welcome to Injurdon
Apparently taking the remainder of the season off to get over the clubs proposed logo change.
hopefully not another ACL
You can’t be a 196cm plus young player at Essendon without a season ending injury. Welcome to the club Jaiden ![]()
If true then he’ll be done at the Bombers…such a shame coz he showed a lot of promise.
Why? Im sure we’ll give him another 1 year deal.
