He’s kicking a lot of goals in the wafl
Get him back. That’s the 42 goals we were looking for!
i love the story. Re-recruit him.
That’s only 34. You made me count them.
I think that ship has sailed dapto, but you never know
Might be right. I am a romantic ![]()
How many blokes with ACL history do we want to be carrying? I’d be staying clear of Hunter on balance, he’s had two.
Are we that desperate for another key forward? Goals haven’t been the major problem.
I’d prefer Gerreyn get a game before getting hunter in.
Are we allowed to redraft a delisted player?
Yes there are no rules stopping you from redrafting a delisted player.
I wouldnt mind giving him another shot.
I thought he showed alot of promise but the injuries were just too much.
Nothing to lose if it’s a 6 month contract.
Bring Hunter and McMahon in.
Surely they all can’t do their ACLs
Maybe he was homesick and is happy just playing somewhere , anywhere
In general, it’s an easier league to build up stats in. The weather is more consistent for footy.
I recall a full forward for Frankston who was relatively average (that’s being kind) going over to WAFL almost leading the kickers every season.
It’s also better pay than a typical VFL club.
I’d say Hunter in particular would want to go to a Victorian team that’ll commit to him long term if he’s going to leave his home state and whatever work / educational commitments he’s in. So he’d be better suited to a rookie spot at the end of season draft than a mid year draft.
He’d also keep in contact with West Coast and Freo recruiters and probably lean towards joining them if it were a short term arrangement.
get through the draft and SSP to local club, would be a good way for WA lads to get on a list, like Nick Martin tried to do at West coast until his quad gave out.
To be fair to Hunter, he turned quality WAFL performances into quality VFL performances without a hitch when he came across to us. The bloke can play. Based on his performances in EFC VFL colours, he’d certainly be in our ones now if he was in the list and fit (ha!)
But one reason he might not have nominated is … he might not want to be drafted. It’s possible. Some blokes move on, have other irons in the fire when it comes to life - education, work, family, whatever. Or the 24/7 footy AFL lifestyle might not to be to his taste now he’s tried it.
his body has only just come good.
best for him to get through the season then possibly onto Eagles or Freos list
Will be announced as replacing Martin shortly.
