Again, nobody is arguing that Hobbs or Tsatas are complete players. But getting the ball from the tap is what they do.
We don’t have the players that do that right now, and it was bad enough when we had had a competent tap-ruckman. Now that we don’t, it makes the need even greater.
I find it all extremely weird. Nobody expected Hocking or Liberatore to be great overhead marks or speedsters. They do what they do and it’s valuable.
And again, we’re 18th partially because teams will often just destroy us out of the centre and overwhelm the backline.
You don’t want a team of them, but you do want One. We don’t have one that we’re playing.

Was always a fan of the way Hobbs went about it. Tough and honest player.
For mine, he never just never improved from his first year - a sentence that can be applied to many Essendon ‘might be good’ types.
Reality is he couldn’t kick or run well enough for the modern game. No other club picked him up when he got delisted.
Well done to him for having a massive impact at the VFL level.
He gave away less free kicks per game than the average afl player.
Definitely did get caught too much but it was massively overblown on here, as things tend to be.
You can argue he wasn’t developed properly and didn’t get a fair crack at it and arguably you’d be right but 17 other teams had the opportunity to pick him up as a delisted free agent for nothing and no club did.

i dont reckon his contested work was that good. A bit slow, got caught by hand and foot.
Glad he’s happy at Port. id much rather see the fringe mids from successful clubs.
We never really gave him midfield opportunity and his development, like others, was poor. That said, he didn’t/doesn’t have any weapons for the modern game so the right call was made to delist him imo.
If you’re gonna be small you need elite pace, and if you’re gonna be in the midfield regulary you need to be a good kick. Sadly, he was neither but I always liked him and he cracked in harder than most. His decision making was also a split second slow for AFL level.
